Hello. Long time Mapler here. I primarily played MapleStory when it originally launched, up to around RED and Chaos patches.

I have not personally been accepted into the closed online beta unfortunately, but I have been very active in keeping up with streams, content videos, reviews, etc.

I would like to give my feedback here as to what I think looks good about MapleStory Classic World, and what I think might need a little attention.

Firstly I want to thank this development team for making this server a reality. I personally have waited since the day that BIG BANG launched. I have always preferred old school maplestory over current, and I would go as far as saying that I am a more experienced player with the original game. My opinion is just one of many though, so take it however you may.

Knock Back
I truly appreciate that the Archer and Assassin classes require space to attack enemies again. Personally, I was not a fan of the idea that ranged classes could attack on top of monsters. The ranged classes were originally designed with skills that allowed them to create space, or use statuses to slow monsters down long enough to eliminate them.
The knock-back requirement should STAY in the game, as it does require more skill to play these classes and it adds an element of immersion to the game for those classes.

Accuracy
I do agree with many content creators that the accuracy formula could use some slight adjustments. I appreciate that the development team wants accuracy to be a factor in this game, and I agree that accuracy should play a part for all of the explorers(Missing on enemies should happen sometimes). But it could use some adjustments because it's not quite where it needs to be yet; especially with the second job advancement monsters.

Class Balancing
I LOVE that skill points and skill builds are relevant again in MapleStory. Skill point allocation is what gives each player a sense of uniqueness and individualism. I appreciate that this have been taken into account. I do believe that the balancing of the skills and classes is close but not quite where it needs to be yet. To me, magician seems to be strong in comparison to the other classes, warrior needs a little more love in the early game. Archer and Thief seem to be in a good spot.

Meso gain and Potion access
Despite common opinion, I personally like where the meso gain and potion access is in the Beta. I know I am in the minority here, but I implore everyone who's reading this and following along with what's happening in the beta right now to think outside of the box a little. What makes old school maplestory so challenging is also what makes it so addictive and fun. Every meso matters, every potion matters. I do not think that easy access to potions early on would be healthy for this game, as it takes away from the challenge of the game.

Monster damage and resistance
Again, I don't think that this is in a bad spot. It seems quite well. It's a challenge early on, and getting a new level up and more skills points makes a difference that you can actually feel. I like that, and I know that others that are playing the beta are enjoying it as well. The difficulty with progression doesn't need to be adjusted, please keep it as it was in the past. Challenging!

Crafting
This new crafting feature is amazing. I love this idea, and I encourage more of it. It would be awesome if more equipment, scrolls, potions, chairs, etc. could be crafted through the new crafting system. I appreciate that it's not free, nor easy to do. It takes time to level the crafting skills, gathering the materials, and it costs meso. I would like to see where this idea goes in the future. More of this please!
