Classic World: Recovery Passives and Chairs:

There are two aspects to consider with this:
1. Classic World should be a slower paced version of Modern MapleStory.

2. Classic World should still consider that there are a lot more games competing for player time than when MapleStory first launched at, so time needs to be respected better while still considering one of the main draws to Classic World with point one.


All of the chairs and recovery passives of restoring HP and/or MP should be increased in the following ways.
While still factoring in resource management being meaningful and limited supply so items still hold their value, but right now for Classic World things are a little to extreme.

Start with chairs, decrease the interval rate from every 10 seconds to every 2 seconds.
Example: The Green Relaxer recovers 30 HP every 2 seconds instead of 30 HP every 10 seconds.

This will make it where the game respects the player time better while still holding on to the old maplestory feel of needing to sit in chairs to heal up to conserve on potion, and thus meso, usage.

The other thing is rebalance all of the % recovery HP and/or MP so that they feel both meaningful to the player, respects the player's time a lot more, and all while still upholding to the feel of how MapleStory used to be.

The suggestion would be if job passive only recovers HP or only recovers MP, then make it where it recovers 100% of that resource within 100 seconds, and if it does both, then it recovers both within 200 seconds.

Example: MP Recovery on the mages currently is 1% MP every 10 seconds. This takes 1,000 seconds for 100% MP recovery, this is almost 17 minutes which is an insane wait time!
~ The change for this passive would be something like adjust the amount and periodic time so that it recovers 100% MP within 100 seconds.

Suggested amount be something like, at max rank, 4% MP every 4 seconds.
This would be 100% MP every 100 seconds, which is still a while to wait to recover your MP, but short enough to not feel like a complete waste of player time and long enough where you still need to rely on potions and/or waiting around to get back into the action for the old MapleStory feel.

Another Example: Something like the thieves passives have a passive that let's them restore 10% HP and MP with a 30 seconds cooldown.
Suggestion for this would be change the amount and cooldown to 5% HP/MP with a 10 seconds cooldown.
This would be 100% HP and 100% MP every 200 seconds since it restores both resources simultaneously.


I would do this approach for every % HP and/or % MP passive that got added to Classic World that restores either periodically or with a cooldown.

If it only restores one between HP or MP, then set it up where it will full recover to 100% within 100 seconds by either increasing the amount and/or reducing the interval time / cooldown.

And if it does both HP and MP, have it recover the full amount within 200 seconds.

This will make it where Classic World will feel a lot more enjoyable to play for players, especially very early on, while still retaining that old MapleStory feel.


Also, remove EXP loss on death, or have EXP loss on death and allow the player to recover their loss EXP by going back to the place where they died at and recover their lost EXP - similar to Dark Souls. Areas where you cannot re-enter, like a boss room for example, EXP is not loss on death at all.

If you change to recovering the lost EXP mechanic, then Safety Charms could function like consumables that you use to by pass the retrieval process and just instantly get back your lost EXP without the need to return to where you died at.

Just something to think about.
