In order for the utility link skills to be taken, they need to be either buffed and/or improved upon to be taken and taken seriously.
Also a side note, to offer +4 more Link Skills to choose from for our loadouts, but the extra Link Skill slots can only offer their defense and/or utility effect, while the current 12+1 Link Skills will remain unchanged. This will just help flavour up builds some more and allow us to make use of new link skills from new jobs.
Utility / Defense (and some offensive) Link Skills Suggestions to be improved upon:
Adventure's Curiosity: [Explorer Archer's Link Skills:]
Additional Effect Added: Whenever you land a critical hit, there is a chance equal to 5% of your total critical rate, including going above 100% critical rate, to heal self for 1/2/3/4/5/6/7/8/9% HP.
(This just needs something for players to consider taking it over other options other than you are an archer. But at the same time, this does still synergize well with archers.)
Bravado: [Hoyoung Link Skill:]
Additional Effect Added: Effect occurs against enemies with 100% HP and one time every 10 seconds against the same monster.
(This is make it useful against boss fights and to compete against the other offensive link skills.)
Close Call: [Shade's Link Skill:]
Additional Effect Added: When you take damage, there is a random chance to reduce your damage taken between 1/2/3% to 3/6/9%, including % HP attacks.
(By giving some more guaranteed defensive link skill protection will get more people to consider taking this over other options. Currently only giving a 5/10/15% chance to survive a lethal hit is to random dependent to be worth considering to take.)
Innate Gift: [Khali's Link Skill:]
Buff This Effect: Recover 5/10/15% of Max HP/MP every 1 second for 5 seconds. Cooldown reduce to 10 seconds from 30 seconds.
(This link skill is way to weak to ever consider taking, ever! At these values and lower cooldown, there might be a chance people would consider using it, other than Khali players...)
Invincible Belief: [Explorer Warrior's Link Skill:]
Slightly Adjusted: Healing change to 40% HP every 1 second for 3 seconds for every rank instead of a scaling healing per skill rank.
Added Function: Healing ignores ALL anti-healing effects, making it always able to heal you in a pinch.
Buff This Effect: Cooldown change to 300/270/240 / 210/180/150 / 120/90/60 seconds.
(Maybe at these values people will take it as a survivability tool, it could compete against Resistance Link like this.)
(Shared) Knight's Wish: [Mihile's Link Skill:]
Effect Has Been Reworked: No longer is an active.
NEW* Passive: Now always grants the user 50/100/150 Abnormal Status Resistance. Additionally, every 9/7/5 seconds cleanse Abnormal Status Ailments on you.
(This being an active makes it useless! The only way an abnormal status resistance link skill would be useful is if it was a passive one where it is always being applied.
The other part to make this useful is have it have a value high enough that it is actually doing something! With how the abnormal status resistance formula works, you need a lot of it for you to feel any kind of dent of it doing anything.)
Rhinne's Blessing: [Zero's Link Skill:]
Additional Effect Added: Grant +1/2/3/4/5% Chance to Skip Cooldown.
(Something very small, but anything to make Zero's link skill not be ignored and neglected. This will synergize well with Zero as well and be something unique to them (for now...).)
Time to Prepare: [Kain's Link Skill:]
Additional Effect Added: While you are preparing, gain 2/4/6% damage reduction, including against % HP attacks, this effect is lost while you have the increased damage.
Makes it more different to Explorer Thieves' Link Skill and worth considering over other options without adding more power to the link skill.
Iron Will: [Kaiser's Link Skill:]
Additional Effect Added: Every 3 seconds, gain a shield equal to 1/2/3% of your HP, up to 5/10/15% HP.
(This skill is hot garbage as is unless your job is Demon Avenger. This would be an effect that makes it infinitely more valuable than its current standing while retaining its core aspect of a more HP link skill, and actually does something for modern MapleStory.)
