Classic World definitely needs both entirely new things like brand new areas and brand new jobs that did not exist before, but also fix the mistake of old MapleStory and have more than one support in the game for different playstyle preferences among people that want to play as a support and to remove 1 job dominance because support are inherently more useful to have around than non-supports since their purpose is to help people out.
This will be a concept for fun to create new ideas of a bubble mage that the design concept kit below will focus on a kit that can simultaneously be a dedicated support job that can play the game still.
All damage will be ice-attribute damage among the skills since this is the closest to a water element that MapleStory has.
And you will feel the bubble mage effect starting with 1st job. This is a non-explorer job concept.
(I have an idea where you can make a second Maple Island type of starting location that places you at Lith Harbour after getting off the island. It won't be called Maple Island, but it should have a similar design feel in the way it is structured to the original Maple Island, and the purpose of this second starting island is for all of the brand new jobs will start out at this location that are non-explorers and the explorer jobs will start out on Maple Island.)
CONCEPT KIT BELOW WILL BE 1st-4th JOB:
Job 1:
Bubble:
Blow a bubble forward, decreasing in horizontal speed and increasing in upward vertical speed as it moves, that last for up to 5 seconds, dealing continuous damage to monsters making contact with it.
Only 1 Bubble can be in play at a time.
Bubble Guard:
Passive: Restore 10% MP every 5 seconds to self.
Toggle OFF: Party members you collide with will receive bubbles, restoring 20% MP and replenish 5% ammo to the target, this can occur once every 3 seconds against the same target.
Toggle ON: Surround yourself in bubbles, causing 85% of damage you take to reduce MP instead of HP.
[NOTE: Ammo being things like arrows, throwing stars, and bullets.]
Job 2:
Double Bubble: [Mastery Level 1:]
Passive: Up to 2 Bubbles can be in play at one time.
Bubble Pop:
Instantly teleport to the furthest Bubble in range, causing it to burst to deal damage to up to 4 monsters nearby and slow them down by 35% for 4 seconds.
Cooldown: 1 second.
Rejuvenating Droplets:
Toggle: Increase the MP cost of Bubble while active to cause all Bubbles to drop down rejuvenating droplets as they travel, healing struck self and party members for 20% Recovery once every 0.5 second while making contact with the droplets. The droplets will continue to bounce in place against the nearest platform they land on for the next 5 seconds.
Bubble Barrier:
Passive: If a Bubble directly collides with self or a party member, then they are enveloped and surrounded by it and extends the Bubble's duration by up to 15 seconds or until the Bubble is replaced with a new Bubble, causing the target to take 40% less damage and gain 50% increased jump height.
The enveloping Bubble still deals continuous damage to monsters that make contact with it.
Job 3:
Triple Bubble: [Mastery Level 1:]
Passive: Up to 3 Bubbles can be in play at one time.
Soapy Bubbles:
Cause all Bubbles currently in play to burst out a flurry of bubbles all around them, dealing damage to struck monsters and removing any buffs on them.
Party members and self struck will have their abnormal status effects cleansed and gain immunity from abnormal status effects for the next 5 seconds.
Cooldown: 10 seconds.
Slippery Floor:
Launch a flurry of bubbles on both sides of you, dealing damage to struck monsters and causing the ground to become slippery for the next 20 seconds, increasing speed by self and party members while on it by up to 100%, but reducing friction as well.
Golden Bubbles:
Summon forth a golden cloud that rains down golden bubbles for the next 15 seconds, causing struck monsters to turn golden and shiny for the next 8 seconds, causing them to offer 20% more EXP when killed to the killer.
If a party members kills a golden monster, then self receives 50% increased EXP than normal.
Self and party members struck by golden bubbles will also become golden and shiny for the next 8 seconds, increasing healing they receive from Rejuvenating Droplets by 50%.
Cooldown: 25 seconds.
Job 4:
Quadruple Bubble: [Mastery Level 1:]
Passive: Up to 4 Bubbles can be in play at one time. Bubbles now last for up to 8 seconds.
A Bubbly Good Time!:
Hold: Consume MP constantly to rocket forward while shooting bubbles behind you. You can gradually move up or down while rocketing forward, and pass through platforms.
Afterwards, your Final Damage is reduced by 50% for the next 5 seconds.
Blowing a Big Bubble!:
Hold: Remain stationary while blowing a bubble, release to have the bubble bounce along the ground for the next 10 seconds. Only one Big Bubble can be in play at a time.
If you blow the bubble to big, then it will instantly explode and deal massive damage to up to 15 monsters within and consume 80% of your current MP. You need at least 40% of your Max MP to use Blowing a Big Bubble!
Monsters inside of a bouncing Big Bubble will be slowed by 90% and have their damage reduced by 50%.
Party members and self inside of the Big Bubble restore 1% MP every 1 second and can swim around inside of the Big Bubble.
Bubble Blower:
Hold: Swirl either your wand or staff around rapidly, a different effect applies depending on if you have a wand or staff equipped.
Bubbles and Big Bubble that are affected by Bubble Blower have their duration extended by 30% every second, cannot exceed more than 200% of their total duration.
Wand: Create a small sized wind that causes your Bubbles and Big Bubble to move quickly in that direction.
Also reduce defense by 30% against monsters struck for 30 seconds.
Staff: Create a large sized wind that causes your Bubbles and Big Bubble to move slowly in that direction.
Also offer 30 Weapon and Magic Attack to party members struck for 30 seconds.
Leviathan:
Summon the mighty sea serpent Leviathan for the next 300 seconds to attack alongside you, periodically dealing damage to up to 3 nearby monsters and soaking struck monsters for 10 seconds, causing ice-attribute attacks to deal 10% increased Final Damage against them.
