Dutch Trade Restrictions Are Making MapleStory Cla

Hi everyone,

I know there is already another thread discussing the trading restrictions for Dutch players, but I would like to raise this issue again to keep it under Nexon's attention.

Currently, it's becoming increasingly difficult for Dutch players to enjoy MapleStory Classic World as intended. Until around level 30–35, the restrictions are manageable. You can earn enough mesos for potions and equipment through normal gameplay. However, beyond that point, progression becomes unnecessarily difficult.

Higher-level equipment is harder to obtain, and crafting requires significant amounts of materials and resources. Without trading, we're completely dependent on monster drops or collecting every crafting material ourselves.

For example, I'm currently playing a Bandit and trying to obtain a level 40 dagger (Gephart). One option is farming Ligators until the weapon drops. Alternatively, I could level up my crafting, which requires a substantial investment of time and resources. Meanwhile, other players can simply purchase the weapon from someone else.

This becomes even more frustrating when you find valuable equipment, scrolls or materials that you don't need. Normally, you could sell these items to fund your next upgrade. Dutch players cannot participate in that economy at all.

Trading has always been a fundamental part of MapleStory. The Free Market, buying equipment, selling valuable drops and helping friends were all essential parts of the original experience. Removing these features effectively forces Dutch players into an Ironman-style mode without choosing to play that way.

I understand that these restrictions were introduced because of Dutch gambling regulations. However, why can't Nexon distinguish between regular in-game items and NX-related items obtained through paid random-reward systems?

Nexon already applies specific trading restrictions to certain Cash Shop items for Dutch players. Furthermore, similar Dutch trading restrictions were removed from Mabinogi in 2022. This makes me wonder whether a complete trading ban is really necessary for MapleStory Classic World.

My suggestion is to allow Dutch players to trade regular equipment, mesos, scrolls and crafting materials while maintaining restrictions on NX-related items where legally required.

We're not asking for easier gameplay or special treatment. We're simply asking for access to the same core gameplay features that everyone else enjoys.

MapleStory Classic World is supposed to recreate the original MapleStory experience, and trading was a huge part of that. As we reach higher levels, these restrictions will only become more problematic.

I genuinely enjoy the game and want to continue playing, but these limitations are making progression increasingly frustrating.

I hope Nexon will reconsider these restrictions or at least provide an official explanation of why regular in-game trading cannot be enabled for Dutch players.

I'd also love to hear from other Dutch players experiencing similar issues.

We just want to experience MapleStory Classic World the way it was meant to be played.

Indeed. I think they also under estimate how many Dutch people play MapleStory. I see a lot of them.

Also the EA lawsuit shows that Nexon is doing to many rules. Also the fact Mabinogi does not have all those restrictions is very wired.

And Nexon showing trading as a core feature in the trailer makes everything even more worse.

There are loads of Dutch players. I was so excited to return to MS Classic. But this makes the game unplayable and it's extremely unfair! I've sent a ticket to Nexon. This needs to be fixed. This isn't even what the law asks.
