so I tried logging in to the game today and it started installing a patch but stopped and said "installation failed"
what should I do?

    Delete the folder, redownload Nexon Laucher and let it redownload your game. It takes a while but its the best way to fix this

    it worked once, but now it says "game launch stopped, this device is in use"...

    Use ctrl + alt + delete and select "Task Manager" and then find anything related to MapleStory and close them/it
