The bug post had been sunk, which is a neat mod feature on Vanilla that allows us to keep threads open but prevents new posts from bumping the thread to the front page. It's used to diffuse controversial or high-tension posts without explicitly locking or banning the discussion; users can continue with their discussion if they want to, but there's little to no risk of new (or old and not-so-innocent) users flaring up a dead/dying argument.
Funnily enough this post is in direct contradiction to the Vanilla blog. Heh.
As for who did it for that particular post and why, I don't know. I don't remember doing it and I don't think the logs record sinking/closing threads (nor would that include a reason). I've unsunk the thread so that new information can be added, however please follow the bug reporting guidelines and make sure you have new information to add (since spamming "bump" on it helps no one). I will also add that Nexon is aware of this bug (even mentioning it in the Live Stream) and is working on it (among other issues).
