- When first starting out, don't get too bogged down trying to guess which class you want to main. Pick 3 classes that look appealing to you and just mess about on them while you get a feel for the game. Over time you'll gain access to more character slots either through fairy bros daily gift (can earn 1 free char slot a month by completing 13 days), events frequently offer a character slot coupon or you can purchase them for mesos if you play in Reboot world (Henesy general store NPC) or NX if you play one of the regular servers (cash shop).
- When starting out, just accept the quests and kill random stuff you come across until you get to level 30 (most classes are set out in a tutorial followed by a bunch of simple quests which will get to you level 30, sometimes 40). After reaching second job, the little white lightbulb icon on the left hand side of the screen can provide you with some useful quests (beneficial to you in some way, rewards lots of exp, items, unlocks a boss or other loot).
- A feature which can prove very useful for getting around is the Maple Guide. If you are within the level range of the content you can use the guide to fast travel to where that task, quest line, theme dungeon is located. If you complete any of the tasks within it you can fast travel to that area from virtually anywhere from now on regardless of your level which can come in handy for getting around if you don't have a Hyper teleport rock.
- Don't worry too much about your equipment early on. For level 1 to 70-80 (and arguably higher) you'll be able to get by on equipment you either find dropped by enemies or awarded from quests and theme dungeons. After it feels like killing is beginning to slow down and its taking a number of attacks to kill monsters you'll want to start being a bit more selective with what you wear (not to a big extent) and you'll start to look at set bonus, item potentials, flame stats, starforce etc.
Most importantly just try to have fun with what you're doing. Don't try to rush your way up to 200+ and make yourself miserable. Take your time, get a feel for things so you progress smoothly and ease yourself into the grind on a character you enjoy.
