Boss clears after death/left party

I've sent a message to support about this, and they suggested I also take it here. I'm sure I'm not the only one who's experienced this.

For the second week in a row, I've missed out on normal Lotus drops because I ran out of deaths before the party finished the dungeon. Even though I died and left the party before they finished, the game still counts the boss as "clear." Considering that I only get to do this boss once a week, and you need multiple weeks to actually get enough to get your gear, it's pretty unfair. It sounds like an easy enough fix: just make it so that an individual running out of lives before the boss is defeated doesn't count as a clear, but a failed attempt, the way it would if the entire party died.

This system was put in place to prevent players from carrying many parties for the same boss.
A strong person would take a party of weaker players to the boss, get the boss down to the last sliver of health, and then "die out". The people getting carried would finish off the last of the boss's health and get the clear and all the drops.
Half an hour later, the strong person takes another party of weaker players to the same boss.

Nexon didn't like this kind of behavior, so they intentionally made it so if the party you entered with clears the boss, then it counts as your clear for the day/week too. Even if you die out, disconnect, or leave the party.

So, I've had two weeks of gearing progress wasted because Nexon was mad that players were being prosocial about their asinine boss drops system. Like, how was that even a problem.

It's not a problem in reality, but Nexon is not based in reality and what their players actually want/need.

It actually was a big problem where lots of players were being carried. Not that the problem is much better now because plenty of people have multiple characters in their guilds able to carry, but it still forces players to actually clear so there is a (more) limited amount. This was only for CRA if memory serves correctly.

Sorry to say but no, you lost two weeks of gearing progress because you died out. You just need to learn the boss and how to survive. Practice mode is there for a reason.

Well, there's the part where players being carried is not actually a problem, unless you are an empty shell of a human that thinks helping people is bad. So.

People being carried is a problem for Nexon since it reduces time spent gearing up and progressing towards those goals.
As far as CRA is concerned, it's not that big of an issue since it's early game, but still it deserved to be patched out.
Dying out is supposed to be a bad thing. You're being punished for not being good enough at the boss.
It's similar to how people were abusing dying to farm meso. It's not supposed to be a reward, it's supposed to be punishment.

One person running 1000 others through a boss (often for money) isn't "helping people", it's undermining the whole progression model of the game. Especially in Reboot, which prides itself on "earning your own gear" rather than buying it from others.
