Best Classes to Duo for New Players

Hi Everyone!
I'm a returning player (been 10 years since I last played) and am coming back to the game with my partner. We want to play two different classes that complement each other, but we're not sure what to play. My partner likes healing and support, so he's playing a bishop. I'm not sure what would be the best class to play to complement bishop. I'm thinking we're going to join the new reboot server so that we can build from the ground up (and not be super far behind those in the older reboot server). We aren't sure about doing this whole legion/make 42 characters stuff yet, so we're wanting to make the most out of our first characters and then maybe we'll go from there.
Any input is welcome, feel free to share how you feel about your favourite class

Bishop is the best support class with superior buffs all around, and is pretty much BIS choice for anyone as a main. Bishops are always sought after for end game parties, and suffers only a small amount in the DPS department if solo.

For a duo Bishop pretty much covers all your party needs, therefore you will want to choose your main for the duo based on how much you like the playstyle and damage of the class. Ill offer a few suggestions below, but I'd also look at some community tier list videos and watch some game play of recommended classes. Essentially prioritize damage output if during woth a Bishop

Dawn warrior is a super easy and high DPS class class with a debuff that will increase bishops damage output as well. It is top tier on most rankings. Bishop and Dawn warrior go together like peanut butter and jelly.

Demon Avenger is a great bossing class with damage that excels during boss fights.

Shadower has an extra 20% meso gain compared to all other classes due to built in support ability. Slightly harder to play as it requires some weaving of skills to master damage output but overall the extra mesos, mean extra funding, meaning faster progression.

There are many other great classes to choose, and ultimately all classes are viable. My suggestions above are just my preference.

Yeah, Shadower was definitely on my list of classes I might make, the 20% meso bonus seems really good especially for reboot where major purchases are meso based and not NX based.

Some of my other thoughts were:

I/L mage because I like the idea of chain lightning, but my worries are that it might be too easy to just spam chain lightning to clear a map (I don't want something too easy) and the boss damage is not as good as F/P (so I've read).
F/P because it seems to do everything: control needed for skill management, lots of boss damage, lots of really big AOE damage
Aran because the combos feel like it would make it a much more dynamic play style, but I'm worried about being able to boss late game
Kanna because I heard the DPS is actually quite good in a boss and it provides good support.

I've been looking at a lot of videos online to see what's best but I'm still not sure what I'll like. I feel like my current inclination is towards F/P or I/L and possibly class swapping if I don't like where I start.

I think the best class to duo to complement each other has to be either bishop and paladin or bishop and Phantom or bishop and beast tamer.

The first one bishop and paladin I think is great for many reasons. Both can heal each other and provide buffs that make you unkillable. Pally can make itself and another party member "your partner" invincible for a certain amount of time. Bishop can provide door that gives extra life, as well as holy shell which makes bombs and other stuff hard to kill you. Bishop can also use a fountain so Paladin and other party members can heal without you there. Now Paladin has a healing factor or some type of healing so combine that with bishop and it is an indestructible team.

Now second best would be bishop and Phantom. It is second best because Phantom can steal skills so as a Phantom main you can copy bishop skills and copy their play style. So the whole playstyle is mostly thief pretending to be support which is fun while playing. also phantom can copy skills from Paladin as well which makes it just as lethal. similar to what I said with bishop above just different is instead of supporting a warrior you supporting a thief.

The last best would be Bishop and Beast Tamer. Beast Tamer has a lot of buffs that help with party play. also it has similar skills to bishop which makes it fun to play. pretty much Beast Tamer can fly, support, and become a powerhouse if needed. and the same thing I said about the bishop before applies here.

So this is the list I would give and say if I was to go with a duo for partners this would be the ideal duo, as these duos not only complement each other but bossing and training-wise, they make it so much easier and fun. Also, you would see that these duos do make teams solid. I also post some links to the classes so you can see the growth and road maps. This site has all the best info and also has discord.

    I main Kaiser and Bishop

Kaiser is my main in bera atm in regular servers and just recently I made another bishop main in Hyperion reboot. Bishop is one of the best classes in my opinion and one of the first people to add me to a guild was actually a paladin so I have a bias in that sense, as pally does help in party play and also with training. I also have a very strong pally in my guild so that's why from experience I would say Bishop and Pally is best team. ;)

IMO don't go DA unless you really enjoy it and don't mind playing a very difficult class. You'd think with all that HP they're tanky but in reality DA is one of the squishiest classes. They do really good dps on bosses, but will get one shot by things that other classes can easily shrug off because to deal optimal DPS they need to be under 30% HP or something like that. They get even squishier in endgame because their BiS shield makes them take MORE damage.

Not a class for new players.
