In the free to play gaming world a whale is defined as a player who will spend a lot of money.
On Nexon I am a whale, in total I've spent $435 on nexon games.

The overwhelming majority of that money was for perma items in maplestory.

I recently started playing DFO again, which got me wondering why nexon never compensated me for money I spent on their DFO which was shut down too quickly.
So I emailed Nexon requesting they credit my account the 36,455NX that I spent on DFO.
They refused, effectively alienating me as a customer.

Great job harpooning a whale!
Maintaining me would've cost nothing.

    $435 is not a whale. Whales spend thousands.

    Also, what do you mean "alienating me as a customer." Are you going to stop playing MapleStory because of this? Are you going to stop buying NX because of this?

    I don't know how old you are so maybe 435$ Is a lot for you, but I wouldn't call you a whale. I've spend over 20 times as you did and I know people who spended more than double of me.
    Those are whales ,including me.
    And I don't regret spending that money to be honest.
    Sure I could have spent that money on something more productive , but maple is like my hobby.

    Too bad they didn't refunded your 36$.
    Something you should know when you spend on online games, you'll never get refunded . you must have a darn good reason to get refunded
