✓ [Eluna] Parched Lands Quest Glitched

Bug type: Quest

Brief bug summary: The quest [Eluna] Parched Lands does not allow you to take a picture of the Water Filtration Facility.

More details:
In the [Eluna] Parched Lands quest, you are required to go to the Earthen Rise map and find a secret path (which I did), and use the camera given to you to take a picture of it. The problem is, the camera doesn't register as you being in the right map (it says there's nothing to take a picture of). And you can't even get rid of the camera either, because even if you forfeit the quest, the camera stays in your inventory, and it cannot be discarded. It would be nice if we got a fix for this BEFORE the event ends.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Complete Trienohk's quest "[Eluna] Footprints of the Ancestors", which has a similar request to this, but actually works.
2. Accept [Eluna] Parched Lands.
3. Head to Ancient Water Filtration Facility, accessed via The Earthen Rise (during Eluna Prospecting).
4. Click on the camera given to you, with no results.

Character name: GreenGales

Character level: 232

Character job: Wind Archer

World name: Bera

Date and time of the incident: Every time I attempt it

Still glitched as of the August 3rd maintenance, and the Professional Camera still can't be discarded.

There is a workaround for this issue. Basically, on each Eluna journey (top of the hour), X number of "instances" of Eluna are created based on the # of people who join. E.g, assume maximum 100 people per instance, if 300 people want to play Eluna that hour, Eluna will be created 3x over. The camera series of quests ONLY work in the first Eluna instance (presumably because the map ID #'s associated with the activating the camera are based on the set of IDs for the first instance only).

So, in order to get the quests to work, you need to get into the Eluna invite ASAP as soon as it goes out (i.e., within the first 10 seconds) and try to end up in the first instance. It appears that players are allocated into instances based on order of entry into the invite map (the one with 1 min countdown timer).

You can test whether or not you got into the first instance by trying to "navigate" using the world map - click on a map and select begin navigation. If "path cannot be found", you are NOT in the first instance. If you can navigate, you're in the first instance and the quests will work.

Amazing how these glitches even happen.
