SOLUTIONS to reduce hackers
Comments
the only problem with this is the GM to player ratio. Not enough time in a day to address all the reports. And not enough GMs hired to carry out the reports
In the context of gaming, a hacker is someone who uses hacks. They may be a hack themselves who couldn't write hello world but they're still a hacker.
If what matthew say is correct, it means that GM mostlikely won't see any hackers coz everytime they online, most hackers will automatically get logged off.
For GM to prove whether this is true or not is simple. GM only need 2 computer.1 login on GM account while the others as Non GM. Try find several hackers and check whether when GM try login into the GM account/char, the hacker will dissapear or not. If a lot of hacker dissapear, mostlikely this is true.
If this is happening, there is almost zero chance for GM to catch a hacker. Most of players report about hacker will be useless coz GM will not be able catch a hacker because they will automatically get logged of by their hack as soon as it reads that GM is online.
Bought a trainer? Do you mean pay a hacker to train/levelling them? If this is what you mean, i would say someone who buys it also a hacker. Same as if you are asking a thief to steal / rob other peoples, it means we are also a thief. If we are buying stolen items, doesn't it means that we are also a thief? So if we ask others to hack for us, it is the same means as we are hacking.
Someone who use hack is a hacker. Someone who create the hack is the hack programmer or you can call hack creator. Someone who play a game called gamer eventhough they can't make the game. And someone who create the game is called Game Programmer. ;o
Hmm asking players to stop buying is actually good idea. It is just not everyone cares whether there are hackers or not. Though, Some people who have dollars but they can only play like 1-2 hours a day, mostlikely will just use their dollars to buy what they want. Mostlikely they don't care whether hacker exist or not. They just want to be good. But yeah, if more and more players stop buying, eventually there will be less and less hacker. Especially if they demand becomes very low that it will just be a loss for them to hack.
He's right, hackers in the cyberworld is different than "hackers" in gaming. In gaming hackers are just people that use the third party programs that were already created by real hackers/people with knowledge of code. to put it simply, a hacker in a game most likely cant hack to save their life, but a real hacker could if they wanted to write up a program to bypass restrictions for a game. People just call them "hackers" because the programs they use "hack" the system in the game. In other words, theres no real name for those that use these programs.
well there is.. they are script kiddies, but the termanollogy is just arguing semantics cause in the end we are talking about ruining both the hackers that up-keep the hacking program, and those that profit off using it in game (the botters).
