Can't give pet skills to Esel?

I got the free Esel pet and bought auto move and extended auto move for it. However, it won't let me use it, claiming my pet doesn't have a loot skil...which it does.

Since I can't use these skills now (which I wasn't informed of when I bought them) what should I do? Does nexon do refunds?

As you can see, it doesn't say you can't revive Esel:

And this is the message I get when trying to use auto-move, which claims it doesn't have loot when it does, indeed, come with item pickup skill.

    Nexon most likely will not do a refund. You could however sell mesos if you're on a regular server to grab just enough to get the skills it thinks you're missing.
    There's no guarantee that will work either, though.

    You cannot apply skills to Esel because it is an event pet that cannot be revived.
    Contact Customer Support for a refund, since none of this information is given either in-game (the pet's description or the skills' descriptions) or on the website (the "Maplestory 2 Hot Week" event notice).

    Just wondering, is this mentioned somewhere? Since it's not formally stated and I don't think anyone has one that's expired yet, I'm kind of skeptical about this statement, though it would explain the op's problem. Ty ahead of time.

    It didn't say on Esel's information that it couldn't be revived, so I went ahead and bought the skills for it. I did know it was a month long only pet, but I didn't mind since it seemed like it could be revived (nowhere does it say water of life cannot be used.)

    But yeah, it let me buy the skills just fine, it didn't tell me I could use them until after I tried to equip them.

    No, it doesn't say anywhere that you can't revive Esel or use pet skills on it.
