I just noticed that I gained Silver status late in the month of February and it reset on the 1st of March... giving me about 3 days on silver. If I had held off my purchases for a few days, I would have held silver for a month instead of 3 days, if this is correct it suggests to me that you should be using a floating 30 days instead of a calendar 30 days.
