The reveal of the new Maple Missions presents new rewards for participating in the Custom Puppy event that players may find more worthwhile. However, there is only a 13-day period between the reveal of the new missions and the end of the Custom Puppy event. Even if players begin the event after the missions were revealed, it is impossible to complete Mission #3, "Drink 15 Groovy Smoothies and Obtain a Custom Puppy Tail", which requires players to log on for 15 days. Thus, players who initially chose not to participate in the Custom Puppy event now find themselves locked out of rewards that they didn't even know about.
A simple solution would be to extend the Custom Puppy event, perhaps by a week. This would allow enough time for players to complete the mission even if they start the event after learning about the Maple Missions.
Right now, using the emoticons ":(" and "D:" (and possibly others) make your character automatically use the F3 expression, in the same way ":)" makes your character use F2 (smiling). It makes a lot more sense if this was changed so that your character used F4 (crying) since it's closer to the emotion being expressed by a frown emoticon rather than F3, which is more commonly used as a "smug" expression.
