  • About this game continuing to go downhill

Just gonna copypaste my reddit comment on this
The game has been "going downhill" ever since big bang dropped, depending on who you ask.

People have cried that Schrodinger's MMO has been both dead and dying(simultaneously, somehow) so hard and for so long that the entire argument, to me, feels tainted. That it's just people who don't like that the game was made more accessible, that their months of grinding to hit level 70 didn't mean as much anymore, and they're angry at that fact and are trying to insist to people that the game is dead because of their personal feelings on the mattter.

It's actually not even really exclusive to this game, though it seems to happen most often here. Just the very concept of a game being "dead" or "dying" because someone doesn't like it or doesn't like the direction it's going feels like a bad-faith, low-effort argument.

It's perfectly fine to dislike the direction the game is going in. However, to say that the game is dead, dying, "going downhill", or anything in between because it's deviated from what you feel to be the right path is disingenuous.

Except the game is quantifiably dying. It's obvious that the player base for GMS is nowhere near what it was. This is to be expected in some regards but the rate at which the games player count dwindles is only accelerated by changes that aren't good for the game. I'm sorry but nerfing kish to the extent that it has now been nerfed should have been done YEARS ago. No the game isn't dead but it is very much dying. Reboot was supposed to be the server for F2P progression. Yet they keep adding little P2W mechanics. Sure you can get Maple Points with meso but that requires you to actually invest time into a server that you don't want to play on. So the only other alternative is to use money to skip arcane dailies or to do all your runs of tour. I'm honestly baffled how you can make the claim that the game isn't going downhill is so disingenuous considering the constant instability of the servers. Then there's the constant instability of the game itself. Do you know how demotivating it is to pop your 2x, get your mvp, pop your gold pot and totem only to crash and lose your buffs. I doubt it, actually I doubt you even play the game.
