If I'm reading the patch notes correctly, we'll have a limited amount of time to customize our Maple Globes - after which we won't be able to change the design.
You will have until January 8 at 11:59 PM UTC to finalize your globe customization using the UI even after the event ends.
I'm requesting for this time limit to be removed, since we're spending tens of hours (and potentially lots of meso) to unlock decorations, and this defeats the purpose of trying to collect more if we're just going to be stuck with one in the end.
Being able to customize our globes freely would be a huge improvement - showing off what we were able to collect, twinning globes with others, having seasonal themes - personally, it'd be one of the coolest features in the game.
