For those not in the know - towards the end of last year several trade restrictions were imposed on all Dutch players in order to comply with upcoming changes in Dutch law. These restrictions are severe, including disallowing item dropping, trading, and use of the auction house. This effectively turned the game into an extreme hardcore version of Reboot for all Dutch players, but without any of the benefits Reboot gets to allow progression to be reasonably possible, effectively bricking people's accounts and forcing them to start over. Furthermore, the compensation that was provided for Dutch players moving to Reboot in light of these restrictions were widely perceived to be grossly inadequate.
However, there has been an update to this situation - namely that these restrictions have been removed for other Nexon games, such as Mabinogi and Maplestory M, since a few months ago. Yet despite this, the restrictions are still in place for Maplestory proper, and there has been no news regarding this issue.
My request, then, is as follows:
- Either remove the restrictions on Dutch players to follow the same removals in Mabinogi and Maplestory M, or failing that...
- Provide an update regarding the situation, either explaining why the removal can't happen for Maplestory or providing a timeline for when this removal will be possible.
