Coding is only partially remembering how past mistakes were fixed and then correcting them, but it's not always as easy as doing the same thing that has been done before. Anyone who codes also has to make sure that the code works similarly across most operating systems, with everyone having desktops or laptops, differences in graphics cards, anyone who uses special hardware/software for handicaps, etc. Technology constantly upgrades and current games need to keep up. Also like other people have said, there needs to be communication with Nexon Korea to keep them up to date and to get advice on what could possibly be done to fix the issues
That's where you are wrong. It is the staffs fault. They've had plenty of time, if not weeks, to test the content before they were going to release it. They've had plenty of time to prepare proper servers for the mess of players that were going to come back for one of the biggest updates of MapleStory's career. I'll give you that code does break from time to time without reason and is definitely a mess when it comes to finding out the problem but remind you... they do this every single patch that comes out. Maybe one or two they've been good on but they shouldn't be screwing up every patch. Do you know why experts are called experts? They have significant knowledge of their field and know so much about it. There are time for mistakes and to learn from them but it seems like in this case they are not learning from their mistakes. Things are not being tested as thoroughly as they should be. Nexon needs to know that they're doing something wrong because if everyone keeps telling them it's "okay", this will just keep repeating over and over again because they know the player base will be cool with it. They lack the costumer service and communication they used to have.
Nexon America needs staff changes pronto. There are people at Nexon that either can't do their job properly or have little to no knowledge of what they're doing. I'm not saying I'm any better, and they're probably a whole heck of a lot better than I will ever be at something like that but at least hire some professionals who know what they're doing. Especially with a big name like "Nexon", you shouldn't be screwing up this often with every patch/maintenance. Take a look at Nexon Korea... Rarely, if not ever, do they ever have extended maintenance that goes on for this long. Nexon's quality of service is what killed the player base and we need a change to make Nexon a big name for gaming like it is in Korea instead of the laughing stock it is now. Should be ashamed of yourself staff at Nexon of America for letting this go on for so long. They are experts at their job. It isn't the staff's fault. Code breaks from time to time are regular for programmers and it's ghastly having to go through the code again and find specifically what things are broken. And the player base is not being killed by Nexon, it is killing itself for constantly blaming them for problems
I mean when I finally have access to the europe server even if I've been playing on NA servers for months, I'm going back to EU play there since I have all my mesos and characters on there plus better ping.Ok, I see your issue now. I didn't mean to sound like a jerk if I did, I thought you were just complaining because of the maintenance, but it's the fact that if you use the NA Servers you would have to start all over, and it wouldn't mean much since you would be back to the EU server anyways. I'm sorry that you're having issues with the migration. I hope that for you and everyone else on EU having troubles everything gets sorted out.
So many people saying "go try do the programming yourself." We didn't ask you to compare them to us or told you we could do better than them. It's their JOB, they get paid. Big gaming companies don't have as much trouble doing coding and finishing tasks. You know why? Because they are more skilled than Nexon devs are. Companies pay more to the skilled programmers for a reason. It doesn't matter if it's their job or if they get paid for it. All programmers have to deal with problems like this. There is no such thing as a perfect programmer because things are always changing and for product development today, the codes go on for thousands of lines, and they're expected to all work, but in reality it's never that easy
