Furious Strikes should be able to be activated by holding down the attack key. Players have to rapidly tap the attack key else the skill can get canceled due to inconsistency or a single frame lag.

Furthermore, with decent SI and MPE green pot, beast tamers have to press the attack key 3 times per second during long boss fights for minutes without end.
