Maplestory client on Steam; verified file integrity as well.

Upon talking to Mastema in Edelstein Park 2 hidden street map, I am immediately black screened and unable to continue playing.
Tried windowed and full screen, same effect.
Replicated issue 4 times.
Forfeiting the quest and retrying gives the same result. Please advise!

    This seems to persist on challenger world after the patch
