    No, it actually isn't. Account is not synonymous with player, especially when the game (as Maplestory does) actively encourages you to use multiple accounts. Not every game is programmed the same way, a game programmer would know that.

    OP should not receive the rewards, and frankly I have no idea why he is so adamant about receiving them. They aren't that great.

    To throw my two cents in here, I've done any new player event, on newly created accounts when these events happen. I have always received the new player rewards on these newly created accounts. With this in mind, it's safe to assume that they look for account creation date, and not any other identifier in the database. Anyone with common sense that has tested this out before, should know this by now.

    It's been that way ever since the very first new player reward event. Nothing has changed since then to put in checks for things like IP addresses.

    My bad, still getting use to how the old forum would notify users of someones creation date on that forum. I've been apart of GMS ever since Wizet was still operating this game before Nexon stepped in, right around when Open Beta was a week old and I've participated in every event from then, till now. Never had an issue with the very first new player event, to the more recent ones. I've always received my rewards

    EDIT: To comment on the remark you made that people were getting messages from GMs and CM's about them not being a new player, I've never had to contact anyone about these events. I would just make the account when a new player event was going on, and got the rewards in the process. So in other words, I never came face to face with some sort of limitation or conflict that would prevent me from getting a reward from an event. Besides the typically bugged events that happen from time to time. With those, I just wait it out and claim my rewards when the bug is, as Nexon would put it "patched and fixed".

    Those people in the thread I linked weren't supposed to contact anyone, either. But when they did not get their 10k Maple Points, they made a forum thread or logged a ticket, and that's when they got those responses.

    Wasn't assuming they were "suppose" to. I'm simply stating that I never had the desire to raise attention to something I figured was bugged. Knowing that the community on the forums always raise their voice when and if they feel like they've been "wronged" or something of that nature. Thus, I always wait it out for, an average of two or three days before attempting to redeem my rewards, and depending on bugs and fixes Nexon does, I normally get the rewards between a two to three day span.

    SO.

    With all that being said, if a player was never meant to get these rewards via just making a new account, from where I stand and known, being that I've always gotten the rewards. They need to make sure they have the right checks in place, and have a fail safe backup plan to prevent these rewards from going to the wrong players.
