zero weapon growth questions

so if i want to evolve my zero weapon to lapis 8 i need the abso ess and to get to lapis 9 i need arcane ess
can I just evolve directly from 7 to 9 without using abso ess?

    you have a way to get your hands on a arcane essence before you get an absolab essence?

    if i can evolve without abso essence then i dont need to get it at all and just go straight for arcane ess
