This should eliminate any meso sales, botted items and money trades forever. Also, to eliminate any chances of bypassing the new feature, dropping items on the ground will make it them disappear immediately. Mesos will only be used for enhancements and NPC shops.

Ehm this would basically kill the game. On reboot you get quite a lot of meso and you can buy cubes with meso aswell so it's made to not have item trading. Reg servers are based upon that ppl trade stuff. Like when you get some rare accessories from somewhere, pitched boss set for example, and happen to cube 3 lines of wrong stat on it, someone will have use for it and buys it from you so you can make new one and no need to spend tons of nx on recubing and wasting the decent pot.

This will only negatively affect the minority of the population that uses trade to get stronger. All other trades are black market trades because pretty much all rare items or 3L are automatically associated with real money and the seller doesn't want any volume of mesos. Even if it were mesos, they would then be converted to money. Even common items are so common people don't buy them because they can obtain them themselves unless these are bulk. The bulk transactions are also never mesos. No one uses mesos between players anymore, and even if they did, they plan on "converting" it.

The game is far better with unhappy people with no RMT and gold sellers than happy players breaking the ToS.

Restricting item trade is needed too. Players can already transfer money externally and the not in the game and the game will think it is merely just a generous act. Same thing can be done with just dropping items. Pay someone to drop it and you loot them is still money trade.

Literally what? Have you been to the Auction House at all and looked at the wide range of items that actually get sold, bulk or otherwise? Are you aware of the scroll/cube and arcane service market? Where are you getting your "majority of the population" claim from?
If nobody uses trade to get strong in game anymore then explain the current meso rate and why the meso market has been such a success in general (which is a perfectly ToS-friendly way to convert meso).
Not to mention the cosmetic side of the market.

This is by far the worst take I've seen in a while.

The only reason is the bots slowed down, but aren't dead. They cannot supply as fast. High end gear are being sold however at a lower price (and then the mesos gets sold.) That is what happens in Elysium under the surface.

This should stop any black market trade whether the items were obtained in a legit manner or obtained via bots.

If you want to get stronger, stop grinding a consider taking in a profession and making your own cubes and flames. Maybe go out of your way and mine and dig up anything in maple world and kill bosses for cubes. Any alternative is to invest coins in Legion shop. You can go very far without trading anything with players even in a non-reboot setting.

    Dax... please reconsider your suggestion.

It's not just the endgame players that trade to make progress. People use the Auction House/trade to get gear they can't fight the bosses for (like faf, abso). People trade for supplies. People trade so they don't have to endure the grind Reboot has to face, without the enhanced drop rate.

Limiting trade for everyone would absolutely ruin regular servers. The only thing your suggestion would do is stop the cost of equipment RMT. There's a reason people in reg servers don't play Reboot.

At that point you might as well play Reboot. At leas there you can get cubes and easy access to flames with meso.

This is a terrible take, Dax.

Damn I thought this was a trollpost at first but you're 100% serious about this, trading is a major system in every mmo and I don't think removing it would be at all a smart decision.

Play reboot if you don't like it. We already have an option for that. I play reboot because I hate scrolling all my gears for myself since this game is completely based on garbage luck. I get too much stress on it.

You need materials? Go mine heartstones, veins and herbs and golden flowers? Need flame materials? Kritias? Need Meso? Mesos can be obtain by actively doing Ursu and buying your Legion mesos sacks. Need spell traces? Silent Crusade and killing bosses. Need more stuff because you exhausted your limits? Do it on another character. Prices on star forcing can be adjusted to reflect on this change as well as base meso rates. Your once legit trade buddy could turn shady any time.

The game has more than enough sources for materials and meso income to justify removing trades between players. If you cannot do it because you find it time-consuming, you can always buy your cubes the cash shop if your impatient. This was designed to deter all forms of RMT whether is it a new person trying to making money from selling maple items, an undead army of botters or someone who has been legit and has a change of heart later on.

It is Reboot, but harder and more frustrating because of cheaters and bots. I'm just coming up with a permanent solution that accomplishes that at the expense of everyone's happiness.

Exactly. They can't supply fast enough to satisfy the high demand for meso. And meso is in turn used not only starforcing but for buying and improving gear to get stronger. There are plenty of both scrolled and clean, rare and well-cubed items in AH for meso, plenty of other end-game convenience items such as HTR and battle roids available for meso. And the more valuable meso is becoming, the more items you'll see available in AH instead of the black market. Aside from when people quit and cash out.
You act as if all people ever want to do is sell meso. No. They use it. In auction house or in the meso market. Bots sell it, sure, but with the recent account restrictions they're not able to pump as much of it into the economy anymore.
Many people also make large (several) meso-transactions for end-game items which you seem to assume are only sold for real money.

Professions and legion only get you so far, not to mention the need for a market in order to get sufficient materials. Additionally, regular servers can only have one secondary profession at a time, and crafting and selling items is an integral part of early to mid funding.
Not to mention you're completely ignoring the fact that trading is an important aspect of an MMORPG in general. Reboot has forfeited it in return for higher meso/drop/exp rates and free upgrade options. Regular servers rely on the market, especially F2P players.
Forcing dropped items to disappear immediately is also not a very smart suggestion. Aside from user-error, many quests require dropped items to be absorbed.

    You're trying to fix black market trading by disabling trading entirely, but fail to consider several things;
    1. Why the black market exists.
    2. Why the black market will continue existing despite your suggestion.
    3. Why removal of trading will hurt players far more than it hurts the black market.
    4. Why removal of trading will ultimately hurt Nexon itself from sales of random reward items that people would normally buy to turn a profit (in addition to meso market) and multiple-account purchases of limited items (such as violet cubes).
Your claim that the majority of players use the black market instead of trading is ignorant at best.

    1. Greed, people who have no time put in the effort in the game but just want to cap range, quitters.
    2. Selling and buying boss runs and permitting the person to "loot" would be the new black market if this took place. Also, meso leeching when being in a party might be a new black market service... Gonna have that removed as well. Instead of buying mesos in the Black Market, players will be paying money for the botter/player to go away.
    3. If you did more Kritias and Commerci, Ursus, bosses instead of grinding and AFKing, you will go far without having to rely on players.
    4. OUCH, the PSSB sales.

Professions and legion only get you so far, not to mention the need for a market in order to get sufficient materials. Additionally, regular servers can only have one secondary profession at a time, and crafting and selling items is an integral part of early to mid funding.

You potentially have 51 characters. You can do 51x times the dailies and weeklies for resources. 51x Legion coin limits for buying meso sacks if you aren't satisfied. With external sources of items and mesos eliminated, we can finally have that low meso cost we been wanting or make meso costs for 20 stars+ not even a million for Arcanes.

Based on your answers to the points I brought up I've deduced that you really have no idea about anything you're talking about in this thread, much less how the game and game economy works or how your suggestion would impact or wouldn't impact certain things.

Thus I will advise you to go play Reboot if you're unsatisfied with trading. Making ill-conceived suggestions to change regular servers isn't the way to go.

Sounds like you need to adapt more than anyone else...

Husky and EXdest up-thread are right. If you want a reboot-like play style of no trading, go play reboot and stop trying to bastardize the rest of the game to fit your warped, narrow views.

I have a bunch of stuff from marvel that I give to my friends since I have no use for them (armor, scrolls, not high value items), make CRA gear and sell in AH clean or give to friends.

I see your point that you want to stop real money transactions or scams from greed, etc... But there are serious side effects of doing this.

And when you talk about how the minority gets affected from this (players looking to get stronger) and how the majority is black market trades, I'd argue it's probably the other way around. The minority of transactions is more likely 15* tyrants, 22* L/L items up for sale.

When I was in the market discord, high end items generally never sold for months. You'd see the same people posting S> for ages. Towards the end, you'd see people posting trades of unique items and 15* items. Stuff that people would buy for mesos.
