why? A New Year Has Come. and with it, Alot of Dissapointed Players...
Lots of players didnt get the DMT at 25/12, servers are still unstable, lots of content is missing from the winter update, StarForce prices are unreal, Yet ANOTHER Kishin Nerf, no vac pet in reboot, no new years package for GMS, no frequent cash transfer event, RNG related rates still weren't published, Legion Wealth and Drop Coupons Dissapear On DC While Exp Coupons Do Not, NO 64 BIT Client!!and There's No Communication From Nexon's Side regarding those matters at all....
all those and many other bugs and issues are ruining player experience, and Nexon dosen't care, probably because most of Maplestory's income comes from the KMS region.. but it shouldn't be like this...
we had enough Bebe boxes, Apologies, and Compensations. Fix your damn game Nexon!

Yea all the boycotters are pretty much already boycotting nexon and have been for awhile now. This should only go out to the whales, who will most likely ignore it once the next cash grab rolls out. It's a doomed project from the start.

Every server blade is a high end computer and there are thousands of these things on basically bookshelves, this means a server is insanely expensive to not just make and then you constantly have to upkeep each server blade (aka a computer). To expand the server for more people to be on the world and allow for more stability, they need A LOT of money.
So do you think boycotting will get you your stability?
If you said yes, you are dumb. They need more money, not less to fix the problem. This is a Nexon Korea issue that needs to give more resources to Nexon America and boycotting will do nothing but hurt the game.
~ DMT this is going to compensated for those that didn't get, they mentioned this already.
~ Servers are insanely expensive and we have more people on the world than what it is meant to hold. Solution is Reboot 2, but that is very risk with such a high cost of buying all those server blades (computers) and building the server. This will at the very least give new players a better playing experience with a more stable server since less people on it.
~ We do not get 1:1 content as KMS, we just get a lot of KMS content, not all of it.
~ Wait for events. Star Force could get lowered in price, but at the same time you just want things given to you without working for it. Not very good for the health of the game if things are just given to you.
~ Good! Better for the game. Now Kanna players must be under the same restrictions as literally every class in the game! Maybe players will explore the game more and discover new mesos farmers.
~ They said they are adding vacuum pets, just be patient. They might be implementing it in a better way than you expected...
~ New Years is insignificant to GMS, no one in NA cares about New Years that much, so why would Nexon America do anything for it? This is just you wanting stuff because someone else got it... entitled spoiled brat mentality.
~ 2021 we got two cash transfer events which is one more than 2020. That is more frequent cash transfer events. They also said more frequent, not frequent. Listen when people speak or they will stop communicating if you are not going to listen to them.
~ The rate application will happen, got to be patient. It takes awhile to implement these things and we have to wait for Korea Nexon to do the thing first... Again, listen when they speak.
~ Fair, coupons should be saved if we DC. This is something Nexon Korea needs to do though.
~ Be patient, 64-bit client is happening, things take time and not just happen with the snap of a finger.
Again, they do communicate, you just do not listen. Learn to listen first before saying someone doesn't communicate.
this boycott is not first and is just reflection on some of the recent issues other are well under the carpet

the game is more stable when players leave ??? how many players need to leave more? isn't player count already at bottom or all time lowest?
and as i can see players leaving ->nexonNA service is more neglected and worse instead of improve to get them back
there is allready more then 100 RED MVP's if thats not enough along side overpriced merchant store don't know what is
maybe reevaluate the spendings ( like paying meme sites for small players attraction over maplestory streamers,proper local develope/code team or something simular )
when GMS rely on KMS changes,fix,updates,decision makeing might aswell give them the credit instead of nexonNA

First off, do you understand what that would require? This isn't Minecraft Java Edition running the same OpenGL 2.0 code since 2011. That would be extensive upgrades to the MapleStory engine from KMS. Yes, KMS, not GMS. KMS determines what we get to use unfortunately. If KMS still uses Windows 7 era support vectors then so do we unfortunately.
The same was asked about GNU/Linux support years ago. If KMS says, we only need 32-bit, then that's what we get unfortunately. There is no GMS only code base to work from. GMS is basically a translation package for KMS which some toggled features either on or off.
Yea anyone disagrees with you is Nexon employee. How much did Lost Ark pay you? I'll double it.
I won't spend another penny on this game until actual, real change starts to happen. We're not just a small server that stands in the shadow of KMS.
Nexon has such a massive opportunity to make so much more money from the West, people love this game and I feel they don't understand that but with how awful the servers are at the minute there are so few new players joining, and so few older players sticking about.
If Vac pets get released, NX that people actually want etc. I still won't spend a penny, you need to stick to your guns

KMS actually got 64 bit client a few months ago.
As one of the longest boycotter in maple history
1st- Bring back world transfer event, last event destroyed half of the player base if we can get that half back to play this boycott can become a stronger one.
2nd- Bring back exp events alot of people need more exp to reach faster goals I think it can help.
3rd- Bring back and revamp all old school bosses, side bosses and pvp. I think having more to do and it being revamp and giving more exp would help bring the game to a better tier.
4th- New guild stuff to do and guild bases. if we had this we would be able to do alot more kinda like ms2.
5th- Free riza. only makes sense you need a voice.
6th- perks and rewards people need some motivation
7th- new guild tournament!! we need a guild tournament like the magic games in fairy tail
8th-in game gm team. alot of botters and alot of people need to go and having a in game team kinda like bean bigrade would be great also we can bring back gm events
9th- maplestory review team and system. we must review stuff and how they are performing from gm to vfm and forums.
10- make maplstory great again. put your red hats on people
I feel that nobody has properly addressed you point by point, so I'll do it for them. I personally agree with this boycott for most the reasons listed, and you at least are very good at pretending to have a head on your shoulders so I'll address you as such. I will head this off that there are many people as you described being "bratty" but the issues go far deeper than that, so let me just take a look here...
-The issue isn't the lack of compensation, it's the fact that it failed in the first place. People shouldn't need to reschedule and get a bebe box, the game SHOULD work outright. If this was one weird bug, fine, but the fact this is CONSTANT with so many events is the issue. Every event for the past... as long as I can remember, and I've been playing this game on and off for over a decade, has had some weird freak issue that's anywhere from annoying to literally game breaking.
-Servers are expensive. Good thing Nexon is a MULTINATIONAL BILLION DOLLAR COMPANY. They haven't upgraded because of lack of funds, they haven't upgraded because they don't care about GMS. We make so little profit that the only way that we can fight back is dipping into their margins. This does risk them shutting us down outright, but these issues with bugs and communication is giving me a migraine, personally.
-We do get 1:1 KMS content. KMS updates hit every server, and other servers ADD extra content. GMS takes alot of content from alot of servers, but anything in KMS besides I guess Coke Town we have. On top of that, the updates he is talking about are very particular and helpful updates for us that we should be getting. Changing set effects and how boss crystal prices work isn't a KMS exclusive change, I promise you. the issue is that they havnt told us where it is. This is breaking the usual cycle that GMS follows and people are rightfully confused, and we have heard nothing of these changes.
-I don't even know where to start with this. I guess I should just say this: in GMS, we have double the star force cost as KMS. He isn't complaining about not having mesos for star forcing, he's saying the higher prices we have over here, which is borderline unnaceptable, which leads very conveniently into the next point...
-While I 100% agree that kish should be removed from the entire universe of thought, the issue is that the whole reason we HAVE double star force prices is because of our insane spawn rate. Our SF costs were balanced around OG Kish and Frenzy spawn rates. What happens now that they are slowly getting nerfed? That removes the reason for double cost. Why havnt they been lowering the SF cost with the kish and totem nerfs?
-Again, the issue is lack of update. And please, I'm not sure if you're new or naïve -- there is no reason to have faith that it will be good or fair. Take it from this boomer, it will be annoying, but we still will shell out the cash cos... vac pets, God damnit, that's worth a part of my paycheck.
- We have gotten it every year, and if you need a sob story, I havnt been able to celebrate for the past couple of years because my mom is in the hospital and my family is understandably busy, with my boyfriend dealing with his family, it was just me and my dog alone for the holiday, sitting in my apartment being a bit sad, frankly. Having the event in maple makes it at least so I could have talked to someone, as well as some nice little bonuses that I always look forward to. it doesent matter if you don't care; others do.
-This is the stupidest semantic argument I've ever heard, and arguing semantics is my favorite pastime. All I will say is that in KMS, they are looking at making cash shop transfers permanent-- and if we don't get the same treatment, we will be upset. Separate CS inventories is a predatory at best practice anyway, and having 6 or more transfer events is what everyone is asking for. one more might technically be more frequent, but that is far from the intent of the request. If Nexon doesent want to do it, then they need to tell us. We are (most of us anyway) are big boys and girls who can accept no. The funniest part is not even Nexon agrees with this. Honestly, do better.
-The last three points have the same answer, so I'm just gonna wrap it up here. Yes, they have said they are coming. Sometime. Maybe. The issue isn't that we don't have it, it's that we have no possible idea if they are even working on it. After empty promise and empty promise, we need more transparency with what exactly is happening. What phase of testing is 64 bit? Can we get a broad, tentative estimate of when we will test it? of when Closed Beta will test it? if it's delayed, that's fine, but we need SOMETHING. If something needs to go through KMS, have they brought it up? What did Korea say? Are you working on it? The issue isn't that we are stomping our feet saying "now now now", the issue is that they REFUSE to give us any, even just broad updates, on what's happening.
We are listening. We have been listening. But words only mean so much, and at this point, unless we threaten the almighty dollar, things won't change. They have been throwing empty words at us for years, it's time for some concrete action. This game compared to any other game has game ruining bugs that we deal with daily. I can leave FFXIV on for over 48 hours with no memory leak, crashing, or lagging, and do hours of hard content during that uptime (Source: Have done it). Nexon is as big as Square Enix, before you say anything like that. They need to get their heads out of the sand and start making a real game, or else we aren't gonna spend money on it. And until they do? A couple of new store mounts in FFXIV look pretty nice... and I have extra money now that I don't feel like buying SSBs.
