labyrinth of suffering is suffering
Labyrinth of suffering is truly suffering. Too much dialogue. The story is stagnant. Too much cutscenes are invested into such a less critical part of the story. They're all caught on there. Ok we get it.

From my point of view, Labyrinth of Suffering flies by now. You just breeze through whole sections of the labyrinth in walking cutscenes. Back in my day, all those walking scenes you had to kill quest your way through. You know that Morass minidungeon through That Day in Truefett that the story makes you go through like three times? That was nothing! Imagine Labyrinth of Suffering full of those.
Not only that, the story made you follow dead ends that didn't do anything to advance the plot beyond making your player character feel despair. Like from one of the waypoints you were made to go several maps down to a dead end, go back, take another path, hit another dead end, and only let you proceed when you took the third. Then toward the end, you had to solve a randomized labyrinth that took a half hour to get through before you could face the boss. Twice.
When they first made that area, seemed like they really wanted to make the player slog. Now you don't have to live the suffering, you just have long cutscenes.
Oh wow that sounds terrible haha. Labyrinth has definitely gotten a lot better over the years, but I think it could still use some work. Old players find it a blessing, but new ones still see it and throw up their hands—especially because this is immediately preceding your fight with the Black Mage. Y'know, the guy that the entire game has been trying to ramp up to. But now that you're here, it's not even underwhelming; it's just something to sit through.
It's places like Labyrinth that make me wonder if the average Maplestory player cares in the slightest about the story or if they press and hold the dialogue key for everything. Because who wants to make a bad game? It takes so much time and resources to make anything at all. I just can't fathom how we got to this point
From my experience, the vast majority of players do in fact just skip all dialogue.
