All of the complaints to Nexon have already been stated in one way or another. There's nothing to do but wait, because more complaining will not get us anywhere. Me and a lot of other players were not even able to get on after last night's long maintenance, so it was inevitable anyways that at some point it would end up back in maintenance for one thing or another. For all long maintenances, Nexon gives plenty of compensation, so it's not like we don't get anything for waiting on fixes to be made. I'm sure most things will get extended as well.

This game is huge, and the engine it runs on is ancient compared to today's standards. I vote that MapleStory gets a faster engine to handle all of the content they are bringing us, and that the code is re-worked in order to make things run as smoothly as possible
you do realize what you are saying right? that would mean they have to take the game down for months to rework the engine and code to prep the game for it, and still manage to screw it up!

Its extremely suspicious and convinient how these issues keep surfacing and maintenance has to be performed everytime their 9 - 5 shift is over. Especially around this time of year when christmas is right around the corner and overtime is highly sought after. #Conspiracy

What I'm thinking is that all of MapleStory's data get copied so that a new engine could be found/designed, then take apart the existing code which was copied while the main game still runs, while also providing updates on how the engine works, what has been rebuilt, etc.

They really really should, but why would they? they just made tons from the black friday 'sales' and are about to make millions more from marvel coming out probably as people go for those new items and perm tele stones and pendent slots and everthing else.

they have a good thing going, why ruin it by making it better? /s

could work, but as i said before, they would still find a way to screw it all up and we'd still be waiting

Did anyone else have issues making a new character for burning after deleting an old one?
As in i created a character, put the burning, and wanted to change it, so i deleted it and made a new character, and when i tried to give it burning, it said "Request Failed."

I mean surely they should change if they're being tweaked and tested on... no?

i personally think it goes like this:

Maple team, lets see how much we can piss off the maple community today.

maplers: oh god not another maintenance!

Maple team: lets not give them any information while we drink coffee and let them think we are actually working

Maplers: (all pissed off and ranting about the constant maintenance)

Maple team: our plan worked! they are so pissed off now all we do is wait!

The biggest issue is probably how they always have to edit, add, or rearrange new code to fit old code that has probably never/barely changed. If they just did it over again, they could efficiently put it together so that further updates don't have so many bugs and breaks
