Weekly Ban Data: 04/13/2017 - 04/19/2017
Here is this week's ban data we'd like to share with fellow Maplers:
As mentioned last week, we're still in the process of setting up an automated system to separate account bans from character bans.
We'll be sure to update this thread with the number of account bans if we receive the list before the end of this week.
Thank you everyone for your reports and we'll continue to do our best to combat hackers in-game.

edit: as pointed out below I forgot to consider people could have characters on multiple worlds. 171 assumes 40 character maximum but if we add all the other worlds the potential minimum value gets smaller and smaller.
Arwoo has already stated that Nexon don't like this "naming and shaming" thing, and as for any company in existence, you can only have so much transparency. So maybe you can help Nexon by completing a survey as to what you would like Nexon to do.

I suppose you can feel free to tell me how changing the number from a wildly inaccurate "number of characters" to a meaningful "number of accounts" is naming and shaming.
how does that matter? If you spent any time at all to actually think you'd realize if any character on an account gets banned the entire account gets banned, you can't have 2 characters on the same account getting banned, especially in ONE week. Are you ok dude?
Seeing the number of accounts banned per week is a more accurate representation of how hard the GMs are working to ban hackers. As @JushiroNet stated before, 6838 characters is between 171 to 6838 accounts (and that's only if we assume every person banned only had characters in one server). If they're banning 171 accounts a week, they're definitely not working very hard, whereas if they're banning 6838 accounts, they're working their ass off but the hacker problem is just enormous.
What happens is that if a GM bans one character, the entire account gets banned - and all the characters on that account are counted in the "number of characters banned" we see above.
And by the way, an account can have a lot more than 40 characters. For example: someone who had 30 characters in Scania, moved to Reboot, made another 30 characters, got caught botting for meso on their Reboot Kanna. Each of their 60 characters will be counted as a "banned character", even though only the Reboot Kanna was caught and actively banned.
Now the chosen mods would be players who knows the rules on the on the back of their hand and has been on here for about over 2 years or more and know there way around the MapleWorld. They should be trustworthy people, Community Friendly and Open for anything (PG or G Related). (ALSO A SUGGESTION)
i agreee all this numbers and such has no mean and is just waste of time would be better and smart way to focus on security and stability
