Some Questions and Concerns

I really love how far Maplestory has come and I want to come back and play it. Though I am worried about how well progress would go since I am not the richest of people, but I do put in the work. First some questions since I really need them answered.

-Is it possible to still enjoy the game without having to spend millions on gear? (I do cash in $10~$30 every once in a while but not always and I don't want to spend it all cubing)
-Can you make money to buy cosmetics via in game money instead of real money? (I love customization but last time I checked everything in the store is timed)
-I want to main a Demon Avenger what can I do to boost their damage? Last time I checked there was some sort of system that gave unique skills to certain characters and the skill increased as the characters level increase, and also character cards.
-What profession should I pick for my main? ( Before I quit I had mining and another profession that let me get rings and stuff i don't remember the name)
-What profession should I pick for my alt(s)? (I heard Demon Slayer/Kanna is great for mobbing so maybe something that involves getting mob drops would be a good profession? I don't really know)
-What stats should I be focusing on a Demon Avenger + What endgame set should I be trying to get for him/her?
-What should I do about gear for my first time leveling?
-Best way to currently level?
-How to earn mesos?
-What's the best channel to play in that doesn't have a broken economy/is active/leveling isn't a pain/making money isn't toooo much of a hassle ?

Sorry I don't really have a tl;dr for this I just really need these questions answered since I REALLY want to get in to this game.

P.S. I apologize if I posted this in the wrong section.

-Can you make money to buy cosmetics via in game money instead of real money? (I love customization but last time I checked everything in the store is timed)
    Yes via the MesosMarket.
MaplePoints can be used in the CashShop to buy stuff~ (I don't know the limitations tho...)
You can sell your Mesos for MaplePoints and MaplePoints for Mesos. The rates vary per server.
The market doesn't generate MaplePoints, tho. There has to be someone offering points for a trade to happen.
MaplePoints can be purchased with Prepaid NX in the CashShop.
You can find it in the FreeMarket or under the quick move option. The NPC has a better guide.
    (Not available in Reboot.)
-I want to main a Demon Avenger what can I do to boost their damage? Last time I checked there was some sort of system that gave unique skills to certain characters and the skill increased as the characters level increase, and also character cards.
Link Skills can be obtained by leveling a character to at least level 70. More Info
    Character Card System. More Info
The Character Card System will be replaced with the Maple Union System when Override(Beyond Update) arrives in GMS. More Info
-What profession should I pick for my main? ( Before I quit I had mining and another profession that let me get rings and stuff i don't remember the name)
This depend on the server you join.
In Reboot you can have all professions on one character. I play a Non-Reboot server and usually choose Alchemy for my main so I can disassemble gear I don't need for superior item crystals. (I sell them in the auction house for mesos~)
You can get Mining + Herbalism + 1 crafting (Smithing,Accessory, or Alchemy). (Normal Server)
-What stats should I be focusing on a Demon Avenger + What endgame set should I be trying to get for him/her?
Demon Avenger gains range/damage from %HP potential and starforce. Demon Avenger's main stat is HP.
I don't know too much about endgame demon avenger gear tho. BUT This is a good video(Non-Reboot): Link~

    That's all I can help with, I think. 3_3;

    Yes. In Non-Reboot:
    - Do your daily bosses, collect your reward points (make sure to spend them every month because that's when shop resets). You may get Master Craftsman/ Meister Cubes from bosses to cube your gear. Sell the potions and extract the equipment for item crystals. Sell the item crystals in auction house.

    In Reboot:
    - Do your daily bosses, collect your reward points (make sure to spend them every month because that's when shop resets). You may get Master Craftsman/ Meister Cubes from bosses to cube your gear. NPC all equipment and potions. When Double Miracle Time happens buy cubes with mesos you've saved up in Cash Shop (this is a Reboot exclusive) to rank up to Legendary.

This is possible in Non-Reboot. Just save up mesos and do your daily bosses.

In Reboot this isn't possible due to trade being disabled. You will unfortunately have to buy NX for cosmetics.

Build up on your Link Skills. Some good ones are Demon Slayer, Xenon, Kanna, Luminous, Cannoneer, Phantom.

Character Cards are about to be phased out for Union. I'd highly recommend leveling all sorts of characters to Level 140 - 200 and having at least 140 Star Force on each of them. You may want to look up for more information about this.

You can now have Herbalism, Mining, and one crafting profession on one character in Non-Reboot. Accessory Crafting is not really good anymore due to all sorts of gears that outclass a majority of them. Decide between Alchemy for Potions which are really good at Master Craftsman/Meister, or Item Crystal extraction. You can also choose Smithing to craft armor, or Cubes if your Master Craftsman/Meister.

In Reboot you're allowed to have every single profession on one character.

In Non-Reboot that's up to you. It doesn't really matter at the end. Just make sure to choose a proper main one. Other characters as back-up you just need to remember what they are after maxing it out to Level 10. It's not like you're going to maintain all of them at Master Craftsman/Meister and if you do that's generally a huge waste of resources.

In Reboot, refer to the answer I mentioned above: you're allowed to have every single profession on one character.
    Dangeki wrote: »
-What stats should I be focusing on a Demon Avenger + What endgame set should I be trying to get for him/her?
Root Abyss Top/Bottom/Hat/Weapon, Tyrant Cape/Shoes, and Superior Gollux Accessories and all Gollux Rings. There's a lot more items that can be swapped out etc. but that's the general set-up for all characters minus certain exceptions.
    Dangeki wrote: »
-What should I do about gear for my first time leveling?
Gears generally don't matter during leveling up. At best just swap out for better ones when you get the chance. They don't matter until much later into the game.
    Dangeki wrote: »
    -Best way to currently level?
There's a leveling guide here and here. Maple Guide is your best friend too, use that too.
    Dangeki wrote: »
    -How to earn mesos?
    Besides bossing...

In Non-Reboot: Selling item crystals, doing Commerci, Gollux. Here's a guide here.

In Reboot you're kinda out of luck. You'll have to farm mesos if you already did your daily/weekly bosses.

You must be referring to a server.

In Reboot there's no economy due to trade being disabled.

I mainly play in Scania and I've survived for a good 12-13 years. I'd suggest to either find some friends or test the waters and find which you like the best. Or wait until someone convinces you on what server to join.

There are no problems. Also this is in the right section no need to worry. The Questions, Tips, and Tricks section got merged into the General MapleStory section.

Hmm this actually changed my view on Reboot. I mainly focus on buying clothing in most games and that's just what I enjoy doing, so I guess i'll find a non-reboot server. Thank you for all the advice!

I forgot to mention, you can only purchase cosmetics with mesos through other players in Non-Reboot worlds. The prices may be high, but it is definitely possible. Some of the best tips is to use both Owl of Minerva and the Auction House to find the item at the cheapest price.

Some people would say that the Mesos Exchange to Maple Points is an opinion. However I believe the rates are not worth the exchange, at least for now since it just recently came out.
