Explorer's Mounts for Sale

After some research of my own, I found out that the 3 explorer mounts(Hog, Silver Mane and Red Draco) are currently unobtainable due to some bugs with its respective quests.
Even though the game already provides us with some nice mounts as an alternative option, it seems quite unfair that Explorer classes can't get their own mounts. Despite having simple designs(as for 3 of the oldest mounts ingame), they still have a lot of charm and pack a good punch when the topic is Nostalgia.

For those new to the game, these are the mounts i'm refering to: https://s.blogcdn.com/massively.joystiq.com/media/2008/01/maplemounts.jpg

Since patching their quests seems like a handful of coding(judging by the fact that those quests are disabled for more than 3 years), i came here to propose an alternative way of getting them!

All of these mounts required an specific amount of mesos in order to complete their quests, giving the player the feeling that they are indirectly buying them from the NPC.

So I thought, "Why not turn this 'indirectly' into directly?"

The idea is pretty simple. To pick and NPC (maybe Kenta, since he's related to the quests after all), and make it sell the mounts for their respective amount of mesos. Obviously, they'd be untradable and require the specific job(Explorers) and level(70/120/200) in order to use them. This way, we will still be able to get those nice mounts without needing lots of hours and resources from the programming team.

Also, this idea could be used not only for explorer mounts, but any other job mounts that became unobtainable due to some bug or map revamp!

PS: Sorry if my english is lacking. Its not my native language, but I'm try my best :D

It seems that most of the quest line is still in the game and works fine:

The person in the above thread was able to acquire all three mounts recently, because they had started the process before the quests were blocked.
So it seems that only something at the very start of the questline is blocked or broken, and once that's fixed, everything else will work.
I think that's a better solution than just buying them.

Still, it's been more than 3 years. If it was that easy to fix, they'd have done it already. I think it would be easier and faster to just do it. It's not like the mounts are needed, since nowadays, you can get a ton of other mounts, so if it requires too much effort or resources, it's very likely that Nexon won't fix it. The shop on the other hand, just need a couple lines of code added and it's done. Better to be able to get them than wait for another several years for then, MAYBE, they fix it.

I'd prefer the quest to be fixed and not having them in a shop.

Yeah, me too, but I'm proposing a solution for the meantime. I don't mean it to be on definitive, just till they fix the quest.

Also it's not like those quests are of any difficulty. It's mostly going from one NPC to another, talking and, eventually doing some easy errand. The "difficult" part is always raising the funds for "buying" it anyway, so I don't believe people will complain about others getting them directly via buy rather than doing the quest.

The thing isn't how easy or not it is. The whole bit with protecting the hog and then catching it is part of the nostalgia trip.

Didn't they remove the hog protection part already? I'm almost sure that last time I did this quest, which was during Chaos update, that part wasn't there, only the perfume one.

But also, the nostalgic part of protecting the Hog is that, back then, it was actually a challange to keep it alive and still collect the books. Nowadays, the quest would be too easy to even be nostalgic

the only reason I would hesitate about putting them in a shop is that these are explorer mounts. If they don't want to fix the quest they should just make them autocompleted quests at the right level.

I believe some other class mounts work like this right?

That would be another good ideia. Though it would take some more effort to switch the old quests into the new ones.
