Synergy Ring on more than 5 characters?

I know the stats only add up to 5 bonuses.

My question is whether it's possible to have more than 5 characters equip the ring, and have them all enjoy the 5-char stats.
If that's not allowed, then can more than 5 chars own the ring, as long as no more than 5 equip it at the same time?

Please don't speculate. Answer only if you know of someone (possibly in KMS or MSEA) who did this (or tried to and got some kind of error), or you represent Nexon and had it tested (sorry, but "I asked the devs and they said X" has been known to yield erroneous information).

    I believe in the coin shop the ring says only 5 are able to get the ring, could be wrong

    To answer my own question:
    You can buy the ring on more than 5 characters (I bought it today on six).
    You cannot equip it on more than 5 at the same time. When you try to equip the sixth, it simply fails. No error message or anything, the ring just won't go in its slot, either by double-clicking or by drag-and-dropping.
    You can, however, unequip the ring from one of the original 5, and then you'll be able to equip it on the 6th instead.
