New Leaf City - Aliens?

Okay first off this is a dumb question and I'm sorry.

But anyway, I came back to maple last November-ish after a long two+ years of not playing due to an old computer. One of the things I've been looking for since returning and have not found was the area with the aliens. I remember it being a hot spot (after going through a questline) and giving great exp and people often fought for a map.

Was this area removed or am I just blind and can't find it?

    It's still there.
    When you are in NLC, open the map (default 'w'), locate "Alien Base" north of the city, and double-click on the yellow dot next to it ("Jungle Valley"). This will cause arrows to appear over your head, guiding you to that map.

    Thanks! Where do I access New Leaf City from? Was it Kerning? I can't remember tbh
