Excavation Impossible bug

Okay, so I've started the quest Excavation Impossible on my beast tamer, which is a storyline quest. And I know you have to pick up drake leavings but so far I've gotten 1 tool, despite picking up hundreds of these things.

Am I doing this wrong or is it just not working?

World: Reboot
Character: Therifal
Class: Beast Tamer
Level: 83
How to replicate bug: Accept said quest, pick up Drake Leavings.

    I did this questline recently on my Beast Tamer. It worked fine.
    Are you farming the leavings from the right drakes?
