activating the 5th job skill does not provide the buff.

    I was able to cast it just fine on my Mage.

    By any chance are you a Bowmaster/Marksman/Wild Hunter...? Because right after the patch, any 4th job version of Sharp Eyes was cancelling the buff, so that could potentially be the reason, or if you're in a party with one of those three using that skill.

    yes i have 4th job sharp eyes. is cancelling the buff supposed to be intentional though?

    No, this is a bug. It was resolved for a few days but it seems to have resurfaced. Hopefully a mod sees this ASAP and forwards it to the development team as an issue to be fixed (again).
