Hey guys and gals, Sarcatry here *waving*
I had a long (or not so much) break from MS, for like 2-2.5 years or so, and a few day ago I installed it once again. Was curious what marvelous changes were made by that time =)
Fist thing I like to do when installing MS once again, is to create an explorer and a cygnus and watch myself getting disappointed once more =D Well guess what? It happened again ^^
But what? they have 4 new classes (so wow, much amaze O_o)
I understand that people always want something new, and you provide that to them by creating a new class once in a while and revamping Kanna. So I guess the explorers are lost cause =D Nah who needs them anyway. They were the pillars of the MS once, but who gives a pluck am I right? ;) We have elves, dragon people, a Japanese exorcist who can't get her skills right and a schizophrenic (zero).
Now Cygnus. I've made a "wind archer" as they call them. I just like archers so this is the first class I usually make anywhere. You know that 2nd job skill they have called "Fairy spiral"? No? then I'll explain. It's a piece of green long cloth, used too attack enemies in front and above mainly. And it's made that way that it is very convenient to use till um.. 4th job advance. The mobility, the range and the damage are good enough to use it till lvl 100. Nice huh? And here I thought I'll play as an "archer". I feel like I am cleaning the house for gods sake. It doesn't seem like I need the bow at all. Yes, there is a skill called "Sentient Arrow" (3rd job) that attacks multiple enemies. But it lacks mobility big times. I checked it a few times, and the green piece of cloth takes the lead on that. "Pinpoint pierce", better damage, attacks one target.
So I suggest we change the class name to avoid confusion in the future alright? =) Something like "Wind Janitor" or "Wind House Keeper" . Sounds good no? I liked the second one honestly =D

Anyways, thank you all! I am off! Got a house to clean ;)

Hmm... So basically instead of giving attention to the original "explorer bowman", they prefer to create a new bowman class and put him under the explorers?
    Lol ok.
Well, if it works, it works.
Oh right, should have mentioned. By "explorer", I mean the first 4 classes ever created. Well... fine, and the pirate. Cannoneer/Dual blade is written as an explorer too, though I don't see them as one. To me, the explorer is a character with options. Till lvl 10 (now it's not that much) you can choose from 5 different classes. After the job advancement you can choose again 2 or three paths. THAT is an explorer. Others just have their job decided from the start.
Not much exploring there is it? =)

The "others" as you call them can transfer into the other jobs whenever they want after 4th job.
No they're not created the same, but beyond the creation of the character, the options are the same.
Just think of it as picking your second job at first job.

You mean a dual blade for example can be a dark lord or a shadower? Lovely, didn't know about that honestly.
But the point is that the explorers get to get a few choices along the way. Minor choices I know, don't really change a lot except for the visuals but hey, it is a nice illusion that my choices actually meter. Warrior, bowman, thief, all of them have an adequate mobility, some more some less, area attacks, range. No need for accuracy anymore. Things like that. And yea, most of the players know what they want their character to be from the 1st lvl.
Come to think of it, would it not be more convenient to put cannoneer and other "lone explorers" with the rest of them? I mean yea, they wont have their own story. But some of us sure can skip the story with the monkey and the catapult thank you. Or is it just me? Anyone? Well, then it's just me. Or, to do a specific story to each class. That way you can keep that monkey story (for example) but to make it to all pirate class.
My dear Nexon, bros, homies. You have to understand that people like choices. We like the sweet illusion it brings. Not only a class, but within the class as well. Choices is one of the reasons the game was so popular in 2005-2006. That and the fact you could play it on almost any computer. =) =) =)
