  • About this game continuing to go downhill

I've basically given up on Maplestory at this point. They don't know/care about what players want or enjoy. They have their own plans for the game, and I doubt they even care if the server goes under because of them.

It's the same story every time: Some random, left field change comes through a "Maple Memo" that actively makes the game less enjoyable right before a big patch. Ends up ruining the whole patch for a bunch of players, and then never gets spoken about by the people in charge again. All in a day's work, I suppose!

This game has too much potential to be a great MMORPG, and being the last of its kind with no competition it has no reason to actively try and be one. They're only interested in keeping the money around with calculated seasonal updates that are indistinguishable from each other. The staying power of Maplestory as a game is a blessing Nexon never deserved to receive.

It's frustrating. Imagine being someone who plays Path of Exile and Maplestory and seeing the astronomical difference between the people handling the game. I could sit here for legitimately an hour typing up the differences between the two. But it's not worth it, because nothing will ever change.

    Oh well!

  • Thoughts on Kanna and Fury Totem Changes

Fair. I should not have implied bad traits, apologies. However, I'd prefer if the topic on Kishin(in regards to the memo) would be more substantial rather than pure opinion so there was something to actually discuss. For instance, why do you like the idea of Kishin slowly getting removed and becoming more like KMS? Benefits?

  • Thoughts on Kanna and Fury Totem Changes

    This seemingly endless back and forth between one outlier who wants to be like KMS vs the obvious majority of the server is useless and honestly detracting from the real topic at hand. Especially since no real points have been made about the balance/state of Kishin in GMS other than "I like/want this" and "I don't like/want this". For instance;

    Kishin does:
+Increase spawn rate of monsters, leading to increased exp, items, mesos,
+'Subjectively' increase enjoyment of hunting monsters due to the larger count and frequency,
+Shorten the amount of time it takes to progress in the game (Without making it trivial?),
+Have to seem a large majority of support from the community as a mechanic,
-Feel bad when you don't have it,
-'Force' players to create alternate accounts to use Kishin on their maps for their mains, leading to
-Increase server strain through an increased number of characters online, without increasing actual player population
-Create an imbalance between servers where GMS has an advantage in leveling, items, and mesos compared to other non-kishin servers

Personally, I feel that the Kishin spawn increasing mechanic is a net benefit for the game and considering it has existed for nearly the majority of the game's lifespan, probably shouldn't go away. All of the negative aspects are either superficial (In terms of balance between servers, which honestly doesn't matter.) or easily solvable on Nexon's side. Whether it be a link skill, a V skill, an accessible totem, or a base spawn rate increase through all maps (The best choice imo...).

The argument on how healthy or fine KMS players are, Reboot or not, doesn't matter. KMS is not connected to GMS, our players barely if ever communicate, nor do we have any cross-server mechanics. We could be playing an entirely different game tomorrow and it wouldn't mean anything to KMS.

If you like KMS better than GMS, fine. But, I think we can see through the history of discussion about GMS vs KMS is that a larger portion of GMS players prefer our version over Korea's. You may exist as an outlier, but must respect the idea that you are one and act accordingly, should you look greedy if you don't. Advocating for large changes that generally go against the wills of the majority because you "like it" without even stating reasons why it would make the game healthier or more fun just makes you look bad... And honestly, if we're going to be KMS? Give us the channels, server stability, support, and client stability they have.

If you honestly want Kishin gone, then I think it would be more beneficial as a topic to discuss why you think it should be removed and what the benefits are. If you can't find anything solid enough, then maybe it's time to look at your idea more.

  • Thoughts on Kanna and Fury Totem Changes

This game is actively being ruined by a brick wall who wants to simplify their job by making the servers they own identical.

We are not KMS and we aren't the Korean playerbase. Nobody in their right minds on our server wants Kishin nerfed. Balance is fake. It's not a real thing in Maplestory in 2020, especially in GMS. It's a fake reason given to falsely justify the change to make management easier for certain employees at Nexon.

Maplestory has only gotten worse since SavageAce left. Grass is greener I suppose. All they had to do was increase the spawn rate in all of the maps to live-kishin levels and literally EVERYBODY would be happy. Every. Body. Braindead company. Nexon's been living in the short term for Maplestory for the greater part of a decade, yet the game keeps coming back in short, lucky spurts of popularity that quickly and efficiently get neutered by changes like this.

If these Kishin changes go through I'm done with Maplestory. Imagine being the producer for a game and consistently only bringing bad changes and bad news for it since you were put into the position.

  • Reboot NA>EU Region Transfer

At the beggining I see no point to allow transfer from NA to EU, as the fun of a new server means everybody starting an adventure equally and together.

"CC or my friend 200+ will come to ks you till you quit"? No ty.

If the launch of the EU Reboot server is not as successfull as we though I'd say to let the NA players transfer in a near future.

I would agree if I thought Nexon could pull off a mid-game server transfer event realistically. At what point do we allow the transfers? Can we trust Nexon to know when, and actually... You know, do it? How long have normal server players been asking for a big server merge?

Also, you're going to be KSed regardless. Unless you are one of the people eligible for "#1" you are probably going to have to deal with this anyway. People will probably be 200 by day 2 and willing to ks for their buddies. It's kind of a weak argument, just saying.
