    At the time of me writing this, the compensation DMT is ongoing, and, well... once again it is lagging just like last time. It's even acknowledged by Ghiblee on Discord.

    I'm not a professional programmer or anything, nor do I know anything about MapleStory's code, but as someone with a bit of experience, a certain possibility did cross my head:

    I'm assuming the lag between cube usage is caused by tons of people doing the exact same thing: Re-rolling their potential stats. I think it's done by sending a re-roll request to the server, and then the server responds with the RNG'd new stats.
    When the server has to receive requests and respond a trillion times a second, it's obviously gonna cause strain and lag.

    IF what I said is correct at all, then how about this - Make the reroll for Black Cubes client-sided.
    I.E when using a Black Cube, don't send any request to the server. Instead, show us the new RNG'd stats in an offline/client-sided manner, AND increment the number of cubing attempts we did.
    Send a request to the server to update our equip's potential ONLY after we click on one of the choices (The 'before' or the 'after'). Update the number of cubes in our inventory accordingly as well.

    My suggestion doesn't account for Red Cubes, but a lot of people use mostly Black Cubes during DMT (I think lol). So this should reduce the number of requests the server has to receive and respond to, thus reducing the lag.

    Again, I'm not a professional nor do I know the behind-the-scenes of MapleStory's code, so my suggestion could be flawed if my base is incorrect. But hey, wouldn't hurt to try :3
    Maybe someone can suggest improvements to my suggestion, or give a different perspective.

  • Revert the Ursus time changes!

    I support this so-so.
    The intention with the time changes was good; it gives more people an opportunity to participate in the Golden Hour. I even have a friend who could've NEVER done it before, until now, because he had work at the previous times. So that's good, and greatly appreciated.

    However, yeah - It's kinda hard to get to 18 players in Quick Play. Even with Masarayu's announcement, people still have to resort to Smegas, so something's obviously not right. I don't have a solution, but rather, just providing feedback on the change as a player.

    EDIT: It seems that Masarayu's announcement doesn't always show up.
    Normally, whenever I logged in during the Ursus hour, his message would show up immediately. But now, I logged in with several characters to do some storage transferring, and only a few of them got the message (Even though all of them are permitted to participate in Ursus, and have in the past). Is that the problem maybe? Masarayu's message not always popping up, and therefore there's less people coming...?

    Agree with Fuhreak.
    I see everyone on the forums freaking out over Kishin, yet I have never EVER used it other than to train my Kanna to 140 for the legion effect. For the record, I have a char with 4.1mil clean range.

    It got that far by doing exactly what Fuhreak said: Party play.
    I teamed up with other fellow n00bz to tackle on bosses and get their rewards, whether it be mesos for cubes, or gear (Sup Gollux, CRA, Tyrant, etc).
    Hence why I think party play should be rewarded somehow. Maybe, the more people you have in the party (and in the same map), the more meso will drop from mobs? I'd also like to see the Intense Power Crystals from bosses NOT sell for less when you have more people in the party; that's basically penalizing us for being social. Kinda lame.

  • Harvesting and mining lag

    AKradian pretty much summed it all up. When professions came out, I thought this bug would be fixed on the same day, seeing as professions were quite a huge new thing back then. Boy, how naive I was.

    Ay Nexon. If you fix this bug, I'll give you a cookie. I promise. Just please fix it, it's not very fun to farm 500 Empathy daily under these conditions T.T
