Necro-posting is frowned upon on every forum I have ever been on because old threads are assumed to have died. Necro-posting generally does not add anything to the topic, the discussion has typically moved on and the information made irrelevant/outdated, and in extreme cases many people do not want to see a thread they thought has died.
Reviving threads just to say "I agree" or "bump lol" isn't helpful to the discussion, it's just as much spam as creating multiple threads on the same subject.

In this specific case, the user bumped this thread (a month old, with no replies and very little information) while simultaneously posting in this thread and this thread with the same opinion, despite these two threads being much more recent. This indicates that they actively searched for this thread specifically to bump it, despite threads being readily available on the subject.

I don't think the reasoning was to volontary necro bump the thread but was to speak his thought and share it with the community... I think forums are meant to be like this, if not, I don't see why we should use the forums then...

Also it's only a month old on a not so active forum.. it's almost like "shhhh, don't bring this up again"..

This topic should be pinned to the suggestions forum, it is of utmost importance to this game because although the OP wrote minimally on the topic they pretty much summed up MapleStorys biggest problem in 3 lines.. why hasn't anything been done for this huge problem? We were told nothing would happen in 2018 (by Savage ace I think?) And now it's a new year, and they haven't addressed the server problem since 2017. This topic determines whether MapleStory is next to dead for 5/6 of the servers or active in 2 or 3. This thread or the one with 10k+ views on the same subject should be pinned to emphasize how huge this suggestion/feedback is from the playerbase

Been saying this for months now too.. I've sent in tickets, live chatted with GMs, and made a number of threads about it on the forums. Windias way too dead as well, I only see the same people everyday.. i know i'l still play but i've seriously cut down how much i've been playing (im even getting the 2x exp buffs for not logging in for so many days at once lol) it is what it is. idk why they haven't reacted to the general consensus of how necessary a merge is. maybe because the bulk of gms players are in bera, and thus don't need a merge, making this issue not as well known since the only affected players are in the small populated servers. still though, they are screwing up big time with this lack of initiative. But there are plenty of other games with more stable populations.

I feel like Nexon tries to keep the income from Maplestory as passive as possible- especially Nexon America considering how extreme some of the problems are. Overly inflated prices from botters/people buying with insane amounts of real $ leading to a 30b mesos cap being incompatible (Nexon, Frenzy totem commonly goes for $1,500 on the black market), 80% of servers being dead with no hope beside a merge, a dozen people in each world spamming illegal mesos sales. Even the content for GMS is copy and pasted, what does Nexon America even do? How are they getting away with this? Nexon delegated way too much trust into Nexon America.
I mean this is a pretty good opportunity for an entry level employee @ Nexon to be like "Hey, there is a lot of potential to make more money off Maplestory" - point out the mesos sale industry, the fixing population problem to keep people from quitting (Happens alot cause of dead servers and people not willing to restart from scratch) and maybe a good PR move by atleast attempting to eliminate mesos sale spammers. How long will that take though? lol.

It is easy for maplers to see Nexon treats maplestory as chalked up to a dying game with a bit of remaining passive income left to milk from it.
