Probably because I'm from different Maplestory region where tasks are done in a good manner. You saying that I'm not used to waiting just describes how many times they have caused this kind of situation in the past. I wonder where you're getting the idea of "veterans don't even mind it," just looks like you're talking with no evidence. Because obviously, that is not true.your the one criticizing them for doing their job trying to bring you new content. whos the one being ignorant? if you aren't used to them taking long periods of time for a version update then its on you. most veteran players don't even mind it.Something to consider is the size of MapleStory. After over a decade, there is an enormous amount of content - both universal and GMS-exclusive - and accounting for every single factor becomes more and more difficult over time. While the hope is for everything to function correctly the first time, as a program issues will arise and be addressed appropriately. It's unfortunate when we must incur additional downtime to address issues, but what's important is that issues that come to light due to the dynamics of the playerbase are being addressed - not pointing blame over factors which are not always obvious from a testing standpoint.Sure, we all understand there may be difficulties upon upgrading the system. Which makes us more mad/annoyed is the way GMS communicates with players. Moreover, it's just been happening too much for it to be considered as a pass-by situation.I don't really know why people end up assuming everyone complaining to be a new player. I've played Maplestory long enough to notice that this is a big problem. You are the one being ignorant supporting Nexon for its fault.Something to consider is the size of MapleStory. I personally have played since beta, and I would rather nexon take there time with this so the future updates wont have as many issues.
I feel the people complaining have no idea how programming or any sort of logic works. How can they test 100%? I work in a financial software company, with release cycles being monthly, and we discover hundreds of bugs, but still some slip through the crack. It is impossible to find every single test case. It would be very easy for them to make a release with no bugs, if they limited how many items, how many customization etc. but all the fancy interface and customization that you see is a complex amount of code to make it all happen. All it takes, is for a few elements (maybe, certain attack combinations or crit %) to completely break something. And rather than let the game go on and do a roll-back, they decide to pause and fix the problems. Anyone with the argument that they are fed up and been through this too much, and that Nexon has a huge problem needs a reality check. It is people that develop this game, thus mistakes, miscalculations are all viable possibilities. The same way you make mistakes, developers do too. This game has been running for 10 years, which shows they know how to correct those mistakes.Which annoys us more is that Nexon barely communicates with players.
It's just irritating to see people selfishly thinking that they are so entitled to have everything go their way, and forgetting that at the other end is people just like them. If you think management, investors etc. are happy about these downtimes, you are sadly mistaken, falls down the ladder.

I don't really know why people end up assuming everyone complaining to be a new player. I've played Maplestory long enough to notice that this is a big problem. You are the one being ignorant supporting Nexon for its fault. I'm sure you know they extended the maintenance to "test" and upon release it was full of bugs.Something to consider is the size of MapleStory. We know how coding processes work(not fully, but partly), we know 1 error can cause everything to fall apart. The thing is, it's their profession to code. Also the fact that they are being paid to do such jobs, you cannot compare yourself to them at all. We aren't wanting perfection, we are wanting improvement which hasn't been done in a while. When you learn to code go give it a try then tell me how it goes ok bud? because being a coder myself i can tell you your example is trash. codes break theres codes that conflict theres codes thats have issues with other codes nothing in the game dev worlds works 100% ever. so again go do what they do and then once you learn oh hey its actually hard and oh hey nothing works out 100% of the time then youl understand. because theres been so many times where iv done stuff and im like ok yea this should work and it broke something else or just didnt work. AND in every game ever when a update comes it ALWAYS introduces new bugs go look at every games update history and youl ALWAYS find bug fixes.it's their job, they get paid to do their job, is like a doctor that tells you "sry i have no idea what went wrong during surgery, we'll try to fix you soon" over and over and over, or a mechanic who says "sry i have no idea why i fixed something but something else broke" everytime with every client.not even BDO with their massive updates that made their world 30% bigger each time and all those stuff had this kind of bugs, and they are new, can't believe after 10 YEARS you still do the same, it hurts to see how you guys keep just throwing new content without testing and keep killing this game.you a you know that.? let see how you'd be doing. not because they already extended the game once that everything is the same? i wish i'd see you scripting and doing all that stuff bro.! Just wait and enjoy the play when its back on .stop crying
If this team keep screwing every single patch, it means something it's wrong with their staff, and i don't neet to be a genius to see that
It's quite sad how forums are created to communicate, yet they don't. A person posts in 'HELP AND SUPPORT' section and is told to go talk to customer support. Like. . . what's the point of forums existing at this point or that section in general if nothing is ever solved/posted. They really need to improve, there's too many to even mention on here. Problems everywhere, and yet they add more and more problems over the other making the pile bigger. Then goes "I will do that later" and is never done. No point in siding with Nexon when it's obvious that it's at their fault.Honestly, Nexon doesn't seem to care much about the problems happening. So many players have given up caring about GMS doing it's tasks in a good manner which makes them even more careless about this major problem.Yes, they do fix things, but let me expand on your point.
I know they do their jobs, but the thing is. . . It's been happening for too long. You talk about unexpected problems, we call that "unprepared." If the maintenance extend or so, games notify players. Nexon does not. You realize that the most recent news after the game went down again is around 3~4 hours later.
They care much less for community to company communication link and that does need serious improvement. They usually just ninja-fix or do things without notifying players about fixes or changes until it is too late, then we have to wait for like what, the next 3 years?
Some issues that can be highlighted is the Crimsonwood Keep Party Quest which was bugged then completely, "removed for a revamp", which never came during Masteria Through Time. We haven't had a word about it since.
The recent Dragon Rider Party Quest. They fixed the client crash, but you still disconnect to log-in (for Gamelauncher) or server selection (for Nexon Launcher) screen. No word about that since.
How about the UTC time change where it wasn't a bug but they decided to ninja-change it without asking for player opinion? They shouldn't have changed something that wasn't broken but now most of the resets happen at odd times which are 4 PM PST (7 PM EST) instead of 12 AM PST (3 AM EST).
Crusader Codex, do I need to say anything about it?
Phantom with Final Cut?
Magnus Area-of-Effect where you're outside of his aura? Wasn't mentioned in the patch notes for whenever that came around and still not known if it is a bug or not even know we know that GMS use to be the only region without it.
Look, there are a ton of more issues but this just highlights the lack of communication that still needs to be resolved. It's ridiculous that players have to go through Customer Support Tickets/Live-Chat and post Bug Reports/Technical Posts without getting the help or resolution they need.
