A system error occurred. Please try again later! (999)

This is the message i keep getting when trying to start the game through steam. It's always worked fine for me until now. I was logged in on maple and had it running in the background while looking up some maple info on google. That's when i found out the game had crashed (had to use task manager to shut it down). Haven't been able to log back in since.
I've read a number of reports of this exact same error happening to a lot of people over a year ago, but i could not find any solutions other than "it might go away on it's own". How long exactly is "on it's own" ? And is there anything that can be done?

    I get the 21003 error as well.

    "A system error occurred. Please try again later. (21003)"

    My game was working perfectly well prior to the unscheduled maintenance. I have uninstalled and reinstalled the Nexon Launcher a couple of times, reinstalling it in different locations.

    Not sure what to do.

    and before that there was someone who was trying to hack my account but i am not sure of that
