Check out the v.256 - The Dark Ride: Limbo Patch Notes
here!
As response to my thread "Remove Kishin" which was blocked for no reason, I'd like to explain to Nexon the genuine meaning of freedom of speech.
Freedom of speech is a principle that supports the freedom of an individual or a community to articulate their opinions and ideas without fear of retaliation, censorship, or legal sanction.
I'd also like to mention that we're not in Russia but the United States of America, and regards to my thread? even if you do disagree with my thread, it doesn't mean you can just suddenly block it just like that! as long as no one has broken the law, you have no rights to abolish our Freedom of Speech.
Comments
"Freedom of speech" doesn't protect you from people (rightfully) calling you an idiot for wanting Kanna gone.
"Freedom of Speech" does not apply to private property. For example, if you start talking loudly about anything at all in a movie theater, you will told to keep quiet or leave. If you persist, you'll be escorted out. Because those are the rules for entering a movie theater.
These are Nexon's forums, and as such, Nexon has the right to restrict what may or may not be discussed here, and how. They have set out these rules in the forum Code of Conduct, which you are encouraged to read.
Specifically, you, and others in your thread, made baseless accusations towards whoever plays Kanna or disagrees with removing Kishin, claiming they are all hackers or botters. That is against the forum rules and led to the thread being locked.
On the topic of forum rules I do think it's funny that so many people want old maple that it had to be banned as a topic here.
Well, no. It was banned because one guy kept bringing it up, constantly, with an increasingly entitled tone. Even after the ban he kept making threads either to dispute this "totally unfair rule" or make thinly veiled "old maple" threads under the guise of nostalgia, then quickly move to discuss his real motive. I bet he still doesn't understand that he (and others like him) is the main reason the rule is in place.
It's much better to keep that circlejerk on Facebook where it belongs.
Seriously?
Nexon is Korean.
The United-States are but a mere fraction of people online representing less than 5% of the world's population.
I think the last place you will look for inclusion and free speech is here >.< . Nexon does have a code of conduct, but from experience, most of that doesn't apply when bias or a person with a motive is involved.
You saying Bias is actually a great argument as in forums and other places which a person holds some power neutrality is to be practice.
What is neutrality? the state of not supporting or helping either side in a conflict, disagreement, etc.; impartiality.
This is to say that for a person to think your views or arguments are bad or good means they have put there bias or opinion into it.
Now we all have the right to agree and disagree which is our right and I think that is a human right and allowed here "I think".
But like I said they took it down for the reason you said and that it was a decision base on there understanding and bias that led to it.
I do feel that forums are a place where people can have discourse without fear of someone judging and censoring their concerns and can have healthy conversions.
If we go and shut down everything we disagree with then we are not using this platform to its fullest ability as well as we can never do anything constructive.
This is coming from a guy who has that happen to him all the time. I get what you mean as the greatest killer in relationships and a community is communication.
But yeah this isn't me trying to say I have power or anything someone can use to misrepresent my words, but this is more a constructive, honest, and sincere look at this topic and thread.
