Healing Familiars Working Under Heal Lock

Bug type: Familiar functionality.

Brief bug summary: When the player is under potion lock (such as in Verus Hilla's entire boss fight or Will's 2nd phase), familiars with self-healing and party healing lines are healing through the potion lock. Breath of Divinity is also healing through potion lock, which is also a bug. The reason that this is clearly a bug is due to how Nexon fixed an issue awhile ago about how Potion Pot was healing through potion lock, which shows that the intent of potion lock is no healing whatsoever. This proves that familiar healing and breath of divinity healing through potion lock is unintended.

More details: This is clearly a bug and makes bosses like Verus Hilla a complete joke in GMS because she literally can't do anything to harm the player. Hilla's attacks deal less damage than other boss attacks to compensate for the potion lock. For some reason though, familiars and breath of divinity are healing through the potion lock, making Verus Hilla and to a lesser extent Will's 2nd Phase very, very easy. In Verus Hilla bossing right now it's very common for players to just hug the corner of the boss room the entire time because Hilla's attacks aren't even that harmful because of familiars healing through the potion lock.

Steps to reproduce:
1. Have at least 1 familiar that has a line of self-healing or party healing (this bug is affected by all healing lines that familiars can have).
2. Familiars bypass potion lock everywhere in the game but the easiest place to test this bug is in Verus Hilla.
3. Go into Verus Hilla (where the player is potion locked for the entire fight) and lose some HP.
4. See that familiars are healing the player even though the player is potion locked.
5. The same thing also happens with breath of divinity. The breath of divinity skill can still heal the player even though they're under potion lock.

Character name: Not mandatory.

Character level: Not mandatory.

Character job: Not mandatory.

World name: Not mandatory.

Date and time of the incident:

Familiar healing bypasses potion lock wherever there is potion lock in the game. The most important unintended place that familiars are healing through potion lock right now though is in Verus Hilla.

Technically Breath of Divinity is a self regenerating shield that regen by attacking so it doesn't fall under the rule of healing your body HP (some class has this function) (they can't nerf something that some player paid >$1000 for without some legal repercussion).

Potion pot is technically a healing potion since you can put it in auto potion which is why it was fixed. The only reason why they always fixes this interaction is because they got into the habit of fixing it regularly whenever the issue arrive (although the fix does come like a month late most of the time).
As for familiars, they have plenty of time to nerf it since healing block was introduced with Will in KMS (with alot of people saying to nerf it before it was released in GMS), but they didn't, so that set a precedent that all other version of Maple Story that have familiar don't care unless KMS exercise their iron authority to force them to change it. (KMS would have to force JMS to change it first, then TMS, and then the changes will eventually arrive in GMS)

Breath of Divinity would still have its value even if it didn't regenerate the second HP bar in Verus Hilla and Will Phase 2. It will still be very good in every other boss, which explains its super high value even before Verus Hilla was introduced into GMS.

Also, 'Potion Lock' doesn't literally mean that the player can't use potions only. 'Potion Lock' is the term commonly used for when you can't heal at all. The reason it's called potion lock is because of the visual effect of the cursed potion that appears over the character's head. Potion lock isn't just restricted to potion use. Class skills that heal and other external healing sources don't work but for some reason familiars are working, which is a bug.
