Says Maplestory is under maintenance?

I was in Ardentmill in Reboot when I crashed. I tried to reenter back into the game via launcher, but it says there's a maintenance going on. T here's no information on the website regarding a maintenance, and it's been about 5-10 minutes since I've crashed. Any idea on what's going on?

    What in the world just happened? I tried getting into the game but there's a maintenance I wasn't aware of...well time for me to study up for finals ughhhh

    Yea they a lot of things are breaking down: legion wont work, all guilds disbanded, every character under 150 is BURNING, cant get into storage, etc etc. so they shut the game down during 2x..... GG nexon

    Same here. I was in leafre then I suddenly disconnect. Every time I try to log on it says the game is in maintenance. Come on! During a 2x event? That's ridiculous.

    training away with a 2x coupon and 2x event...guild and buddy lists dissapear and them POOF we all gone. At least announce the unscheduled maintenance? k thanks

    I can't get online either, I was training and questing, got DCed to the server screen, tried to choose and it said something about Concurrent characters have reached the max. Then MS shut down completely and when I hit Play in the Launcher it says Maplestory is under maintenance...

    either emergency maint or unscheduled, but seeing how burning characters were not limited to 1 and other stuff going on, it might be emergency maint

    yeah there's nothing on the website is this some kind of tech error or is the game down for maintenance

    Yeah I noticed my Illium was burning, but just thought it was a graphics glitch. About a minute later I crashed and then got that message. It would be nice if we got some sort of statement on the website about what was going on... -cough-

    I am assuming they just shut off the servers as soon as they could, once they noticed the burning glitch and all the other fun stuff currently going wrong.

    Some people seem to think it's an emergency maint. Apparently there are alot of things messing up.
