Rejoining Game - Any Summoner Type Classes?

Used to play this game looong ago back in 2007-2008 when I was like 15 years old. Just had a huge hit of nostalgia and wanted to try it out again. Still, adult life and an office job sitting at a computer all day is taking its toll; would like to play a class that doesn't need to mash buttons or faceroll the keyboard to play so I don't destroy my hands. Any simple classes that mainly rely on summoning pets or AI-controlled companions to do the work for you?

sorry, but there are no classes that mainly rely on summoning creatures to do the work for you.

there are many classes that dont rely on using multiple skills for mobbing though if that's your main concern.

if the last time you played or seen anything about maplestory was from 08, you should consider looking at videos as the game as a whole has changed a lot since those days and can be considered a completely different game / experience.

Technically the Beast Tamer is a "Summoner" Relies on "Summons" , however she's only a summoner aesthetically. I'd recommend giving her or the Revamped Evan a shot.

We don't really have a lot of those types of "set-it-and-forget-it" classes for the sake of trying to curb bot activity.

If you are looking for a turret building style class, you could choose to start a Resistance character and follow the path of robotics as a Mechanic. These masters of machinery spend most of their time on the frontlines building up robots for special abilities. Every deployed machina on the field earns the mechanic a stacking damage buff they can use to mow down opponents from the driver's seat of their personal mech; now standard equipped with gattling guns, laser beams, jet-propelled knuckle launchers, and booster packs!

Wild hunters summon jaguars for like 10 seconds at level 200 ( skill node needed)

There are jobs that highly depend on summons, such as Mechanics who has to summon 5 minis before maxing out the damage with 2 V skills lasting for seconds in an area.
However, its play style is just the opposite as you wish: you need to continuously mash the keyboard to get the maximum damage output (due to its secondary main skill and its highly dependency on summons), especially in boss fight.

If you want some jobs that do not need to much keyboard mashing, better do a job with fewer skills, some jobs like DarkKnight, WindArcher, Xenon, and Demons may work better.

Might seem weird at first but maybe Wind Archer is your type.

Wind Archer is a class that mobs very well post 4th and 5th job, because of all their setups/summons and hit count per second trigger up to 3 or 4 homing missiles PER hit, and can almost swarm the entire map with projectiles, further enhancing Wind Archer's mobbing. Howling Gale, Cygnus Phalanx, and Guided Arrow are the summons that can activate Trifling Whim and Storm Bringer, the homing missiles; unsure about Idle Whim though. And Wind Archers suffer from having the least amount of crit rate, however.
