Good morning,
Its been a long time since eu reboot came out and some people changed from na to eu reboot because less latency but left behind an important part of their life, my suggestion is to make a world transfer between na and eu reboot, if not of all characters, at least allow transfer of a few of them.
Sincerely,
European mapler that played in na reboot for years.

That's a region transfer, friend. Not happening due to the logistics involved.

Generally if nexon refuses to comment on something, you can infer that it's something they either can't, or won't, do. So please, for the love of all that's holy, don't be like NeoTokyoDude and refuse to accept anything anyone says because "you can't know for certain if you don't work for them".

Thats not true at all, i posted a kaiser rework along time ago and a few months later in kms they implanted one of the suggestions so please dont have that i know everything i answer as if i was nexon attitude , because u arent.
If u dont agree or if u dont think its going to happen is fine, but dont act as if u knew what happens in nexon and what do they read and what they ignore because u dont know, unless , as said before, u work there, do u work there ?

So because something happened by sheer coincidence you think the same will happen here?

Also, I'm speaking from just about five years of experience here. Three of which was subject to the aforementioned individual going ham on every forum section possible with demands for the usual tripe. A nexon employee finally came in and said "there is no plan for that at this time", which everyone but homeboy in question took to mean "it's not happening". His response? "You're just the community manager, what about someone above you?" So I'm asking you to not be like him. If you actually do get a response from nexon and it isn't what you want to hear, don't sit there and say "that's not good enough" and ask to speak to their manager.

Well when you have three separate posts about it just here on the forums that all go untouched by anyone in nexon's employ, it's pretty much a taciturn answer.

Or not, who knows, lets have hope instead of having a negative mentality :)

Hope is great and all but realistic expectations are more practical. There are a lot of potential issues with transferring character data between regions, all of which Nexon would rather not deal with when it's just easier to tell players to just restart instead.
From what I've seen the demand for this hasn't been "large enough" for them to put it high on a priority list.

As a fellow EU ping player I can sympathize though. I just don't think it will happen any time soon, if ever.

Let's be smart about "increasing the demand", shall we? We've all seen how that worked out for the concept of "old maple"...

Even then, it may not change their minds. The necessary transfer of character data from one database to the other, making sure everything is ported over and integrated properly, it may not matter how many people want it if there's no easy way to do it. NA-side server transfers are one thing, because those servers are all clustered in the same database. We have to assume the EU-side servers are hosted somewhere in mainland Europe for connection quality to not be just as garbage as EU players connecting to the NA side. It's a whole different beast to migrate user data across a regional divide than it is to move things around within a single region.

Also, another "speaking from experience" here, don't inundate the forums with requests/demands/pleas for cross-region server transfers. The only thing that will do is annoy people, lose you whatever support you may've otherwise had, and, if taken far enough, get a "don't make threads about this" line added to the forum rules.

Like the first line says, be smart about it. It's perfectly fine to pull together more support for this, but don't blast a hundred-ass threads about it all over the place.

First issue I can see with this: Names.
Names between NA and EU are not shared. So "Nameboy1" will exist in both NA and EU servers, and if "Nameboy1" from EU wanted to transfer to NA...well what about the other "Nameboy1" that already exists in the NA server? While there is the possibility that one of the Nameboys is inactive, there is also a possibility that they are both active players, so who gets the name?

Guild names as well. And that's one of the sticking points. There's no fair way to handle that. Someone has to be the loser in that situation. Sure darik and a few others may not care, but that absolutely will not be the case for everyone. Not everyone is going to be okay with the potential to have their character or guild name forcibly given up for the sake of a transfer from the other region.

Guild names are not an issue because people doing "world leap" have to leave their guilds anyway.

Character names are an easy question to resolve: the character that is migrating will be the one to lose their name. It makes absolutely no sense for someone to lose their IGN out of the blue, just because someone else decided to world-leap.

You are correct that moving a character's data from the NA database to the EU database is not nearly as simple as changing the world of a character within the NA database, but it can be done. It's just a matter of Nexon deciding whether the effort involved in developing a migration procedure is worth the possible improvement in both Reboot worlds' health, and in player satisfaction.

We players can't know just how much effort would be involved. All we can - and should! - do is communicate our desires. However, spamming threads on the same topic does go against the forum Code of Conduct. So, @darik, don't overdo it.

They can add name tag ( something like ©lunaignuser®rebootignuser.. in their name label ) instead of forceing 1 side to give up their name/guilds just because nexon dont care much for eu/luna/reboot

But it wont happened anyway so dosnt matter its not just names as issue ping its much worse thing especially for reboot
( Servers are already slow/bad during prime times good luck with extra ping )
Unless nexon rly wants to kill whats left from EMS...

Exactly , it has easy fixes this issues, lets hope nexon reads this and considers it for a future patch =)

You lost them at "considers it for a future patch", because another pitfall to this is more than likely getting it signed off on by the Korean overlords. That alone is reason enough to keep your hopes guardedly low.

This. Don't get your hopes up, but don't give up either. A single thread on this topic every 6~12 months isn't a problem imo.
Since Nexon has a seemingly strict anti-necro rule, a new thread isn't unreasonable.
We've had some issues resolved long after they were due for the solution, so it's not like it hurts to poke Nexon once in a while.

why wouldn't it get signed off? Did you forget that the GMS team are part of the korean overlords? You seem to have a chip on your shoulder when it comes to these types of solutions and at times just seem like a party pooper.

Yes, and the gms team is still beholden to what their higher-ups in Korea tell them to do or not do.
