Both Home Coins and Querencia Coins are movable through storage. So you can use other characters to purchase more Querencia Coins, and then move them back to pool them all together.
It seems to be a pointless system, and we did forward the feedback, but at least there's a workaround.

They are being given. I got 12 from selling items, so far.
Note that the coins are ETC items. They will be in the inventory of the character you sold the item on (or in their coin purse, if they have one and it had a free slot).

Unfortunately the in-game censor ignores spaces, so people can't say bad words by spacing chars out ("b a d w o r d"), but it's not smart enough to see that the letters that make up the bad word are innocent parts of legitimate words, as in the above example.
