Erda Nova is definitely not worth having if you just want to train and level up. The only practical use for that is to have a second method to cure yourself from being seduced by some kind of boss or something, apart from Hero's Will. Use that node's slot for something else.
Can you 1 shot the monsters that you're training on? If not, it'll help if you include a Chain Lightning/Blizzard/Lightning Orb triad in your V Matrix (with the slot that you freed up by removing Erda Nova, perhaps?) but there are also plenty of other ways to increase your damage to be able to 1 shot.
Definitely focus on Decent Holy Symbol. That helps out so much, especially in the long run. Don't worry about leveling up Ice Age, Bolt Barrage, or Spirit of Snow until you take care of that first, because as the guy above me said, it'll help with finding more nodes while you train, and give more EXP in the process.
You go in to fight one of your daily bosses, buff up, summon it (if necessary), start attacking it and BAM, you disconnect.
If it is one you can only enter once, such as Von Leon or Pink Bean, now you're out 50 reward points, the EXP, and the possibility of a cube or other needed item dropping. All because the game won't let you back inside because of the entry limit.
My proposed solution: Don't count the entry into the boss battle until AFTER the boss is defeated. That way, if you disconnect while you're still fighting it or if you die, you can go back in and try again.
For bosses that give EXP in phases (like Horntail or Pink Bean), don't award any EXP to the player after they defeat a certain phase. Instead, give them ALL of the EXP at once, AFTER the boss is defeated. If something like this isn't implemented, then people can just abuse it going into a boss over and over, killing each part of a boss except the last one, logging out and going back in to farm EXP.
All of this is what Monster Park does. Why can't bosses do it too?
One idea I've always had in regards to general disconnections during boss battles is to NOT reward any EXP and to NOT count the entry until AFTER the boss is defeated.
That's what Monster Park does. Why can't bosses do it too?
First it was a problem with the New Year's bags, now it's an even WORSE problem with the various Valentine's Day items. In a party quest that requires quick, manual looting, whether you're lagging or not (which is a whole different topic), event drops do absolutely nothing to help. They just get in the way.
