  • The last Maple Memo - Reboot World Adjustments

    In the memo, it states:
The health and EXP of monsters in hunting maps will be adjusted to match that of monsters in Bera, Scania, Aurora, Elysium, and Luna worlds. The increase/decrease of damage based on the level difference between the character and the monster will be adjusted to match that of monsters in Bera, Scania, Aurora, Elysium, and Luna worlds.
Originally these were set higher in Reboot world, but gradually over time, the hunting difficulty had become much easier in Reboot. This adjusts it so that the level-up experience is similar across all worlds.

When comparing "Reg" to "reboot", Reg server has additional xp enhancements, as well as an item called "Frenzy totem" which increases spawn rate by over 3x.
This means that "reg" server is killing 3x more mobs than players in reboot.
    Reboot - 18k mobs
Reg - 50k! Mobs, PLUS additional xp enhancements, PLUS the ability to get xp coupons from other people, PLUS firestarter ring which gives maps +100% XP

As of right now, reg server is already getting more xp than reboot.

So by lowering the HP of the monsters in reboot, the level-up experience gap between worlds is increasing even further apart

Reboot needs xp BUFFS, not XP Nerfs

  • The GMS Bucket List - Changes We Want the Most.

Copy pasted from reddit. Removed stuff that nexon has already commented on, fluff and ridiculous things (imo). Disagree with what I removed? Comment it. :)
Don't know why we're still trying to post suggestions to reddit, we know nexon doesn't listen to reddit.

For the past 2 years, Maplestory has implemented many dozens of great quality of life updates. Player feedback and implementation of that feedback plays a crucial part in the game's improvements.

    The Big Ones

Fix Cash Shop Crashing the game: Also known as "Crash Shop", it is appalling and simply embarrassing for a game backed by a company of this size to have a product that crashes as much as Maplestory does. It would not be an exaggeration to say that many players experience a crash in the game going to the Cash Shop a third of the time. I don't know of a single other MMO that crashes this often (or at all). Fix it.
Red Cards: This is the single most requested Reboot change in GMS. Reboot players want the ability to reroll lines on their familiars. Players demand it every time Nexon goes live on Twitch. I'm sure the CMs are sick of having to answer the same Red Card question every stream. Players are sick of having to grind hundreds upon thousands of hours in Limina to have a chance at rolling a good Familiar line.
Players being forced to Limina even if they are well past the point of progression just to farm Familiars extremely clogs up Limina maps. Limina maps in Reboot are constantly full due to this. High level players take up a map spot that otherwise would have been used by a player that is appropriately in the 255-265 range.
In the same thought... Bring familiars to Grandis maps and the other Arcane River zones that do not have familiars. Only a portion of random Arcane River zones have fams while others don't. The inconsistency doesn't make much sense.

    General

Link Skills should work like Legion Board Stats. Remove the meso cost of changing skills and have the preset skills apply account wide. Why does one "Account wide stat system" like Legion apply stats account wide and has unlimited free preset changes while the sister system (Links) has a limited number of changes and cost meso? They are functionally the same system and are both grown by leveling characters. Unify the system. Limiting Links ends up limiting the playtime of your players.
Nerfing of rewards KMS to GMS: Many times when content is ported over 1 to 1 from KMS to GMS, it is the exact same copy EXCEPT for the rewards and meso shop prices. Meso shop prices are 2-2.5x more expensive than KMS. Cubes/flames get nerfed in the quality of flames and the amount we get. Why is this the case? GMS players work just as hard whether it's paid or free to play to earn the same rewards. Stop treating the players in GMS cheaply.
A lack of clear game direction besides "copy and paste" from KMS to GMS: Now that Wonki is the director of all the Maplesotry IPs, what is the direction of Maplestory with Wonki as the boss? KMS gets a monthly/bimonthly update from the director to discuss changes. What about the other regions of Maplestory? Coppersan also adds onto this point with this comment.
Ability to use Decent buffs on macros: If Nexon can code the ability for pets to use buffs that are on a cooldown like Decent Combat Orders... I'm sure Nexon can also add the ability for players to put those same buff skills in a macro. Please save our keyboard hotkey slots.
Black Mage iframe lag: This may not be an issue in KMS because KMS has almost 0 lag (small country and all), but GMS has a huge problem with lag. Aeonion Rise (Liberated weapon's Iframe ability) IS LAGGY. It is reliably unreliable when trying to activate it. Many times it takes multiple uses for the skill to start. This is unacceptable for a skill that is depended on to save you from incoming damage at a split second notice. Players also cannot spam the skill since the skill DISAPPEARS after a second button press. At least give the players an option to right click the skill in the skill window to deactivate the "explosion" portion of the iframe.
Don't lose damage buffs on disconnect: For a game that crashes as often as Maplestory does, it should have a failsafe for player when they do end up crashing. For EXP buffs, Nexon has listened to the players and kept those buffs actives. But, why not for damage buffs? I and many other players have had instances of buffing up for a boss fight just to crash before entry. Well, then we are screwed for an hour waiting for Guild buffs to come off cooldown. Why is this the case? This kind of oversight is what kills the player's drive to play the game.
Remove 3 entry limit for boss entry: As the game moves on to unlimited practice mode attempts and removal of entry cooldown for the "real" attempts, I believe this is the logical next step. Artificially limiting attempts to 3 times a day when many players don't have the schedule to run everyday of the week seems too limiting.
Removal of the reward point box in the bottom right: Please give us the ability to remove this box from the bottom right permanently. It is so annoying.

Tier 4 HP Potentials: Tier 4 HP potentials on gear is still not in line with other Tier 4. HP lines are showing up as 12% and 9% when it should be 13% and 10%. Please take a look and fix.
Let cooldowns tick when characters are offline: This is mainly for Guild Noblesse Skills. It is a huge downer for a player to have to wait for up to an hour for their Guild Skills to come back up. It also wastes time since waiting for Guild Skills on character A will deny the player playing character B. The argument for "player/class balance" is moot since players are going to use Guild skills anyway, waiting or not. One change is more convenient than the other.

  • Badges with potential

Considering that the Monster Park shop now contains legacy equips from removed content (i.e silent crusade) it gave me the idea that Nexon should do the same for all the worthwhile legacy equips exclusive to the GMS region (i.e Dark Totems, Sengoku badge, Lab Blocks, etc).

It is not fair that long time players have an item advantage that is unattainable to new players. This is something that other games I've played have implemented to avoid toxicity among players.

You add a temporary event into your game that temporarily rewards a BiS item that requires you to put time and effort to get (racking up event currency or participating in a unique minigame). The event eventually ends which makes the gear unobtainable for future players.
Now you make the gear permanently obtainable but with generic currency (5-15 bil per legacy piece) that is purposefully set very high to punish those that missed the event and reward those that didn't while ensuring that every player has the means to get these BiS equips without them being handed out for free.

And don't write that "KmS doeSn't HAve THEM AnD caN StiLl ClEAr bOSSES" because I don't care. It's a different game, different region. This is a suggestion/feedback/request section. We all know nexon doesn't listen to reddit, so stuff has to be posted here.

I AM SHOWING INTEREST IN THESE ITEMS

This feature has been in KMS for 6 months at this point, it's not going anywhere.

    This is the feedback section.

    I am posting feedback.

Just because it's in KMS, doesn't mean it needs to be here. Ofc Nexon never changes but hey, the feedback is here.
