I haven't played with the new system enough to know what its pitfalls are. But I do want to say that overall these look like good ideas.
I would just change your 6th suggestion. Fishing items should be an independent set that is neither CS nor regular equipment since it doesn't really fit either category that well
I would be fine if we never got hekaton as long as the prices for stuff in the kritias shop were cut in half. They were designed around the idea that we would be able to fight hekaton to get way more coins than most players can get in GMS (due to the unpopularity of the invasion, and how hard it is to solo it even if you can OHKO the mobs), yet we didn't get hekaton and we got the same prices that KMS did. Lower the prices by half and then I would be fine without hekaton. Or give us hekaton
There are a lot of players, myself included, that wished our update schedule was closer to that of KMS (instead of being 6 months behind). There are a few advantages to being behind KMS in terms of updates, chiefly (and really the only one I can think of) is that it allows GMS to bundle several months worth of KMS updates into 1 or 2 updates for GMS, which gives NexonNA enough time to incorporate content from other regions. Don't get me wrong, I love that. But I still think it would be better if we could get closer to KMS's update schedule.
I propose that we shorten our update schedule by 1 week - 2 weeks each cycle depending on the size of the update until we are closer to KMS' update schedule. In about 6 months worth of updates (which should be just after the V update finishes if I counted correctly), we would be 2-3 months closer to KMS's update schedule than we currently are. Which would mean that we would get updates 3-4 months after KMS gets them instead of 5-7 months like it currently is. To me, the best would be to only be 1-2 months behind KMS, but I think 3-4 months is more realistic since it allows plenty of time to work on localization (ie translating and trying to make all the new content work with Jett, Kanna, BT, and Hayato). Hopefully in about a year though we could get to the point of only being 1-2 months behind KMS.
Such a change would come with several advantages
* Small updates would feel like less of a content drought Its true, sometimes we do get pretty small patches in GMS, and when that is the only new content we get for a month it gets old really fast. This would alleviate that by reducing the amount of time before we got more new content.
* We would get optimization patches much quicker I don't think there is a single player who would think this was a bad thing. Optimization is always good for a game, and the faster we get them the better in my opinion
* We would get requested features more quickly Some requested features did indeed make it into GMS first and then later KMS (damage skin storage comes to mind), yet far far more requested features make it into KMS first and then we have to wait 6-7 months to get it in GMS, which is torture. Being much closer to KMS's update schedule ensures that these requested features get incorporated into GMS much more quickly, which would increase the overall health of the game imo
There are more advantages to such a proposal that I won't list here to prevent this post from becoming too long. But I hope that you take this seriously and act on it NexonNA. I know that you probably can't affect your next two patches that are lined up, but from there I really hope you consider shortening the patch schedule in order to catchup to KMS.
100% agree on the ability to recharge all stars at all shops.
I would like to see a separate inventory for throwing stars, or at least a bag. I don't know if I would like a dedicated slot. I carry mostly steelies (cause they look the coolest) and 1 set of icies, when I see icies I know that I need to recharge soon, which is extremely helpful and takes pressure off of accidentally running out of stars. However, if we had only a single dedicated throwing star slot I don't trust Nexon to code it in such a way that this would still work.
There is a huge inconsistency in where you can recharge your stars, and some shops do not allow you to recharge any stars. It is just a hassle if you have a variety of stars to go to multiple locations to recharge everything.
I just think it's another function of MapleStory that seems dated.
The inconsistency comes from the fact that there is not a simple "General Store" class in MS that all the others are based off of (or if there is one its either not used or useless). This class should contain all the common functionality of stores (being able to buy/sell items and recharge throwing stars for example). If Nexon would simply do this then it would be possible to recharge all stars at all shops. The fact that it isn't indicates that they have to manually go to eachshop in the code and tell if which stars it can and cannot recharge, which is a waste of time to implement and isn't guaranteed to get every general store in the game.
Accepting a rune due to level restrictions has been a thing for a while. As far as spawning it could be a bug.
No, you could always - and still can - activate a rune far below your level. But now you can't spawn them. I agree that's annoying, and I don't see why they felt the need to do it.
They hate us they always change things that ruin the game..... like removing party play LKC/Stronghold ect.
Those areas you mention encouraged toxic behavior and actively encouraged people to not play the game. Just because they made you actually try to pretend to grind to level up now doesn't mean that those changes were bad for the game.
The rune change I can partially understand. They want you in maps your level, which is a noble goal but unrealistic considering the steep exp curve and the not very steep, almost feels linear or worse, curve for mob exp.
